Hi all.

Considering pulling the trigger on a 2018 200 series and need some rust assistance. Posting an album of pictures, but more than just the "do it" or "don't do it" (that I'd love to hear), can anyone guide me on what areas to pay specific attention to when evaluating rust potential problem spots vs areas that are no big deal?

Thanks for the education!

obligatory "what rust?" post.

Pictures are a little small to really assess, but looks OK to me.

KDSS valves and AHC lines are the most sensitive areas to rust. Most rust on frame and suspension components is generally just superficial unless you can see scaling or rot.

Apologies for the size, and thanks for the quick replies. Here are slightly larger images, but happy to hear it looks clean.

Looks almost perfect! Like @Heckraiser said, look at the KDSS valve body inside the frame rail under the 2nd row door on the driver's side (it's covered by a metal shield, you'll have to look through the two holes in that shield or take the shield off).

One other area that I have started to notice but no one seems to have pointed out before, is the frontmost edge (especially driver's side) of the radiator support bracket where the skid attaches. I have a small amount of surface rust there, but it's still more than the rest of the vehicle. AND I have noticed the exact same thing in the exact same spot in many other people's photos on this forum. I'm guessing it must be a location where water flows off to from the front bumper when driving in the rain or where condensation drains off from the A/C condenser.
