Sorry I've been so busy lately but did get away and do a bit of wheeling. The Xmitter seems just as bright as my 2 HID's but doesn't throw as far. It has a really even spread which is nice. The single Xmitter bar is brighter than my LF170's but doesn't have the spot to throw a pinpoint far ahead.

The HID's I have throw more of a spot so it works out that I have some real firepower on the front right now
I'll add some night pics later, I was having too much fun relaxing to mess w/ lights

Yuck, a CJ blocking the nice view, that's mentally disturbing and could create some serious post traumatic disorder. Shame on you.

yeah, but at least it's got Blingsteins

nice lights you got there brotha

I think to do better than my 2 HID's, you need a 24" Xmitter. For the cost, you are paying for a very small footprint, extremely long life bulbs and very low current draw.
However, my HID's were just under $200/pr so you can't beat that price.

I don't like comparison photos because the camera settings are always different or give a skewed impression. Best to see it in real life.

I am thinking of taking others suggestions and using it at the rear- mounting under the spoiler, or even mount it on my dd car

cool light but you might want to find a better spot for it further back in the bumper looks to me it would be the first to hit

Maybe it's a bit off.I have a halogen headlight for riding MTB.Now i bought a LED one.Overall both of them pretty good, but with the LED one i always have the felling i need more light,so to me halogen works better.Ofcourse tha LED one with Lithium ion battery last 3 times more...
I have a pair lightforce on my truck which is awesome.Unfortunately i never had a chance to try out one of these LED ones,so i can not compare but my theory is this: the LED great off road ,rock climb, at low speed.Halogen, HID better for higher speed(HWY use),off road rally.

is it just me or does the front of the 80 look like it has a face now? The two round lights=eyes, the xmitter as the nose, and the fairlead mouth (complete with the tongue sticking out)?

I like the led idea as a fill-light for lower speed driving when you want to see the trail ahead without weired shadows. I'm assuming that the high number of LEDs acts less like a point-source and makes it easier to see terrain.

First Toy,
I read your ROTW write up, and I am impressed.
Good job on a beautiful rig.

If you dont mind, could you put up a quick post on your current mods?
I like the stance of your truck, and I wanted to know the specifics.

Thanks in advance.
