Does anyone have these wheels on their 100? I was going to refinish my oem 16" wheels, but they want $125 per wheel to repaint. I am looking at the 17x9's.

Tell me what you think. Too blingy?

$125/per? that's nuts. you can get them powder coated for less. you can also paint them yourself for cheap, there are a few good threads on here.

Yeah, I seen powdercoat shops do it for $50-60 a wheel. Find another shop.

In my neck of the woods powdercoating is at least that expensive. I was originally quoted even more. I finally found a guy (backyard guy) willing to do them for $90 a wheel paying cash but I wasn't sure of his work quality so I said no...

Depends on what the OP is after. If you want strength, stick with the OEM wheel. If you want looks, go aftermarket.

That wheel would only look good with a MT, AT, or similarly aggressive tire IMO. Same with any of the aftermarket XD wheels, i.e. Rockstar, Monster, etc. If keeping with stock tires or similar, I would not make the upgrade.

I think 9" wide is too wide if you really wheel your rig. I actually wish our oem wheels were 7-7.5".

What color is your Cruiser? I can see those in solid black lookin sick on a cruiser, but no one really has anything shiny on their 100's, so it may be a good change of pace

wheels

I have the Cashmere beige metallic. I am running the Cooper Discoverer STT. It is a mud tire. I can't imagine this wheel being much weaker than my lexus 16x8 wheels. They look cool on a Jeep, but probably not the Lexus. I really don't want to paint these myself, so it is new wheels or have them done for me. I may just leave the wheels as they are...they are not in all that bad of shape.

What makes you think the OEM wheel is weak? I have had great luck with mine and I think you will find a lot of others have put them to the torture test.

Personally, I prefer OEM wheels. That being said, there isn't anything wrong with those XDs. They look great if matched to a nice beefy tire.
