No, not the little swim trunks. My 1973 (12/72) speedometer has a broken odometer. The 1/10 spin, but it never catches the 1's. I need a fully working speedo/odo that fits the later dash (with the ignition on the steering column.) I don't what years are interchangable. Also, do any of the later years add a trip odometer? If so, I'd sure love one of those....

I thought about that, but it seems like something is broken in the odo and I doubt there are parts available. The 1/10 spins just fine, but never catches the 1 mile column. I figured I would first see if any one had a working one.

not knowing off the top of my head, do you need a screw type or clip-on type?

Like "pablocruise" says, they are easy to fix and it is likely just gummy grease which the next one you get will also have. I fixed mine about 3,000 miles ago and it works better than ever.

You'll likely want to get on it sooner rather than later just in case the gears get worn from stripping each time they pass and meet the resistance from the gummy grease. The 1/10 mile counter is a directly driven wheel that's why it turns all the time, the rest are through gears to allow them to stop.

This was my worry, and why my first thought was replace, not repair. Their is no visible resistance or 'boing' when 1/10 passes from 9 to 0. It was this way when I got the truck, and based on the POs title, which showed the exact same milage when she acquired it 8 years ago, it's been this way for quite a long time. I'll pull it this weekend.

Not sure what this is reference to, is it how the speedo mounts? I honestly don't know.
