UPDATE - Found mine while on vacation in Colorado...so no more WTB for me, woo hoo!


As the title says, I am in need of a decent FJ45 LWB Bed. My rig does not have one. My options are:

A. Find a decent candidate for restoration (not completely shot)
B. Aqualu - not cheap and does not have the Toyota across the tailgate, but can get a bobbed version
C. Build a custom tray for now, and wait for the right bed
D. AwlTeq - unfortunately Kevin has stopped production until 2014 :crybaby:

Anyone want to split the one above? Unfortunately likely that whoever gets that one will indeed want the bed.

The one in crates is from TLC4x4 in SoCal and is only the sides, no floor, front, or tailgate...and $3,000. A bit over budget there for me.

I figure I will be looking for this for some time, unless I get lucky.

I did find that ad interesting. A title may do you some good in CO as in you may not need to take the vehicle to be inspected to transfer the title. But I know in AZ they would not issue a title to a vehicle from another state without a frame. A visual inspection is require for vehicles from another state.

I would love to have that upper rear cab if it is in the condition described and the price wasn't too outrageous. I've already got the glass and weatherstrips, so I wouldn't need those.
 
The problem with the "body" for sale is that they are selling it as if someone can register. If there is no frame with matching numbers to the title this will likely be a problem in most states. I have sent a note to the person on CL to see if they will part it out bit by bit, as that likely makes more "legal" sense, and could net them the same in the end.

Will keep you posted on what they say.

eMail back from the seller of the body / bed in CO; no go on parting at this point. Their suggestion was that one of us buys it and parts out...sorry, my monies can't be tied up in doing that as I need to source my motor, etc.

I have a 45 lwb bed. minimal rust, a couple small dents but solid altogether. i would like to put it on my 45 but i need the money for traveling. im in victoria, B.C.

I have one I am thinking about getting rid of. I don't want to go through the hassel of restoring the thing. I has some sections in the bed floor that will need replaced and the tailgate is pretty rusty. The previous owner bobbed the thing too and the job needs finishing. I am loctated in Northern New Mexico. Let me know if you interested it is off a 64 LWB.
