My passenger side front door latch on the door side will not stay shut... wondering if anybody had one they would part with..

I dealt with the door opening thing forever. As it goes on one finds that if you slam it hard enough it will stay shut. That's when the cracks start at the base of the windows and the door hinge mounts start to crack.

I am doin my doors now and trying to post up pics as well. Tools needed are a welder or your body guy. By somewhat dismantling the door mechanism you can just weld it to the bear jaw mechanism. Then it's just about linking the two (haven't done yet, but looks simple) mechanisms.
Check out rear body mounts and maybe you could give me some insight. Otherwise it has not been a giant pain yet. While everything was tacked together I tested and I was grinning ear to ear.

first, try adjusting your door striker in and out. also make sure the latch mechanism screws in the door are tight.
I had the same problem with my DS door, finally replaced the striker and fixed it.

Everything is tight and the striker just spins real free...I tried to moved it around and tightend all the screws up. Guess I need get a new striker...where did you get yours at?

I got mine off another Pig...they're side specific, but rears work on fronts (and are usually less worn)

Probably do, let me check...

You are welcome to mine if they will help you. The rear doors are in better condition then the front but I'll send all four when I get to the back door. pm me with your address.

Posting some more pics today "rear body mounts" is the name of the thread.

Sounds more like a latch problem than a bad striker...

Yeah PM him gave me some idea to start on tomorrow I will try and see if that works....much appreciation for all the help

If your still looking for this part let me know I may have what your looking for I have a 72 55 that I need to part out still.
