I need to schedule a wrenching weekend mid to late August to get the 40 done for Flat Nasty.

Gonna be installing a Long's 30 spline inners and birfs  & chromo hub gears. Hopefully by then Marlin will have my 4.7 ToyBox :cool:parts ready to ship and we can get the H42/4.7 ToyBox/Splitcase built and installed

Erik, this will largely depend on your schedule to build the TB. I prolly ought to build a e-brake so I can get through tech at our event.

Now all I need is some tires :hillbilly:

e-brake!?! inspection!?!:eek::eek:

I guess I skipped over that requirement. I'd be up for something in August. Sounds like I need to build an e-brake as well.

I thought there was a consensus that a mico-lock or line lock was satisfactory. For what its worth there were folks at Moab that had line locks and no parking brake. We could certainly get you setup with one cheaper than adding a custom p-brake.

BTW, how's the back?

Can't you use the factory one? You still have drums in the rear, don't you? Or are you missing parts?

No can do. After rotating the pinion up and having a thicker spring pack, the bell crank connection is now below the spring pack.

I'm kicking around the idea of welding on a piece of steel to the crank to lengthen it. I just need to see if that is a workable solution.

How much would you have to lengthen it? If you lenghten it, you may run out of travel on the brake handle before it can move the bellcrank arm enough to engage the shoe.

Do you guys want to have the session in Emporia? I know Craig has been interested in having one at his place. Either way, I'd like to see what could be done with a lightweight front tube bumper for the LX.

Where is Craig located? The only preference I might have is which is located closer to KC. But in the end whatever works best for the majority.

I'd be up for it provided it doesn't interfere with school. I want to get my spring spacers installed, but I gotta do my brakes first.

craig's place is like 200th st and holmes rd in south kc. i think i have all weekends open. my vote is for craig's place

Hmmmm, sorta hoping to wrench a little closer to home........

Kris, Jason, Don, Mike.... y'all up for a TAC South wrench-fest :hillbilly:

Yes sir, at this point looks like August is pretty open. If any members from the North need a place to stay, you're welcome to crash at my place.

(is Kris back yet? Mike you still want to go this Sat? Looks like I'll head out pretty early)

Come one Mike, go!! Bring some springs, shackles and brake lines with you!!
