OK, this really sucks. I was on my way home from class this evening when some douche bag in a pick up loses some boxes out of the back and in to the road, he then proceeds to stop in the middle of hwy. 68 to pick them up. I didnt see the traffic backed up so I locked em up and tryed to swerve out of the way but it was just too late. I creamed a Eclipse on the pass. rear. The douche bag with the boxes throws them back into the truck then speeds off:mad: The Cruiser is not too bad the Eclipse will probably be totaled. I really dont know what to do as far as fixing the 80, it runs great I have put 13,000 miles since I bought it in October and its pretty clean. Doesnt look to be any frame damage and I have a stock bumper left over from the white 80 so I will probably just fix it. Any way I know its been a while since I posted anything up, I have just been crazy busy lately and I hate it has to be something crappy like this I just thought you all might like to see some pics. Oh yeah the wrecker guy even said "it only has 220,000 miles on it, its just now getting broke in" LOL!!

Barnes, did you find all your boxes?

Stephen, that sucks man. Just glad you are OK. Any witnesses might be able to track down the douche?

 R

Dangit Stephen that is sickening, but at least you are ok.

It looks like it'll buff out anyway.

Bummer man. Real smart people out there picking up boxes in the middle of the hwy. Even smarter that he thought they would really stay in the back of his truck.

I think you will be ok and easily (relative) fix. Just be thankful you were not in an eclipse.

Best of luck,
Jason

funny ramon, good thing i didnt have any boxes in the truck today. i already pmd him a line on some parts that may be of use from the pick n pull.

Man that sucks.... If only your cruiser was lifted with an ARB like that one in your avitar and you might have made out a lil better. :p

Fix er up. You got help available here. you saved enough to begin with and spent enought on that knuckle so I say rebuild and keep goin (except when you need to stop of course)

Is it at your house for inspection? and hey, at least it missed the hood :bounce:

Sorry to hear it Stephen. Glad you're ok though. Looks reparable.

Yeah it is at the house, I am going to spend some time today trying to locate some parts. Luckily it did miss the hood, and youre right if only I had put an ARB on it the damage would probably been drastically reduced.

What is all the green stuff on it? Looks like wet green paint or something? (Not radiator fluid I don't think..)

A fender and bumper, headlight/turn signal assembly would go a long way towards fixing that... and if you can pick them at the pull a part, should be a cheap fix too...

Sorry to hear about it, was a clean looking 80!

More than likely the AC line/dryer got busted up and it probably had some leak detector dye (ie. green stuff) in it.

Just look at the bright side, now you have an excuse to replace the front bumper with an ARB!

Just got back from looking over the 80 w/ Steve.

Hes located an inner/outer fender with flare
He has a front bumper

Needs:
DS headlight and turn signal
Valance if its is even replaced
A/C dryer (line broken off the top)
Radiator unfortunately (couldnt find the crack but its definately leaking coolant when running)

post up if you got any of the above or any leads on the stuff. Steve found an 80 and will know tomorrow what all it has on it and in what condition.

Minus the radiator damage it wasnt too bad, frame looked good, steering is off, either sector shaft or the tie rod just got out of adj.

i have a vacuum pump and r134a gauges, when you get ready to fix the a/c give me a call. don't leave the a/c line open to long moisture can kill the insides of the a/c system. tape it off or seal it if you can.

Contact this guy for AC parts. His mane is Rex and he is a Cruiser guy/IH8mudder. He deals in Denso (OEM) AC parts and gives a discount to mudders. He keeps receiver/driers, including a less vulnerable 1" shorter model, in stock.
