help

my dad drove his cruiser into one of those huge steel reinforced mail boxes. wrecked the fender but really smashed the windshield A pillar and pass door. did some other damage as well. but it is estimated at 7K worth of damage by the body shop. the insurance wants to total it. but if I can find a good place to just get a good windshield pillar from a wrecked fj60 I could cut it out and weld it in myself. I have already restorred many cars and body work is easy. but to total the car for just this piece seems silly.

Anybody know where I should start looking for some parts.
Pass side windshield piller - this is the most critical part. the rest He could live with.
Pass Fender- this is smashed but servicable.
Pass Door _ this is useable but the part that mates with the windshield pillar is mangled. push comes to shove I could restore it if we cant find a new one.

also looking for a rear bumper and possibly the lower rear pannel of the pass side. But I may be able to pull out the dents and hammer dolly it.

Thanks for any leads

are there and cruiser only wrecking yards anywhere?

I don't know what model cruiser it is, but try these:

look on Specter Off Road at www.sor.com/sor/models.tam?xax=26567 use the site map on the left. They oughta have the door part, fender, rear panel and maybe the window pillar

Also try coolcruisers.com They probably have the fender, rear panel and maybe the window pillar. I know they have rear bumpers, too.

If no luck maybe try jtoutfitters.com but they wont have the selection

Oops

I forgot it is a 1984 Landcruser wagon. I think it is a FJ60?

I will check the links and have my pops contact you. thanks alot. seems funny that the insurance will total this vehicle for such small problems.

I think the company is probably just opposed to paying more money to fix the car than the blue book value is. Almost happened to my 62 when a drunk driver hit me. :censor: insurance companies
