Wrecked built 2003 - anyone know this truck?

the front and rear bumper and winch cost about what the asking price is. Throw in the tires and looks like a good deal. Someone could likely use the engine for a conversion. Heck there are probably a few small parts I would buy off you if you got it

Pity. Hard too say how much value is in the accessories without putting them on a jig. The bumpers may be tweaked a few inches and you wouldn't know until you go them on.

The rear bumper definitely looks jacked up. Most of the bad damage seems to be on the drivers side rear though...

Buy it, cut off the top and build a cage with winshield mount, AKA Povdin-style.

The problem with it is that it's an obvious rollover. That means you could have bent axles, axle shafts, frame damage, etc that's all hidden. Those bumpers could easily be tweeked so that they wouldn't line up on a straight truck.

Besides, that's pretty pricey ($3500+) for that condition, even if it is an 03 with the A750F trans.

that truck parted out will bring well over $3500

Rollover, or did a tree fall on it?

Actually the $3500 is the current bid, with auction fees closer to $4500. Plus shipping and buying sight unseen seems sketchy. I'm guessing it rolled, all of the curtain airbags deployed. Presumably runs though.

The part-out value of that truck is about $6500, assuming both the front and rear bumpers can be sold for $750 each, and the rear axle housing is not bent or damaged. You can get more if you sell off seats, etc, but those can take a while due to the size/weight of shipping and you have to keep them inside too.

However, to get the $3000 in profit (assuming that you get it for $3500), you still have to pay for transport to a place where you can part it out, all the labor to pull the engine, trans, xf case, brake master cylinder, axle, front diff, etc. Then you have to be able to store all that suff, haul off the carcas, then package stuff in preparation for shipment. You then have CC fees from all the online sales, etc.

In short, you can make money, but don't expect to get rich off of one unless you have a LOT of time to kill and you have the tools, knowledge, and extra hands to tear it down, the space to store the parts, and the patience to sell them all to people who like to haggle over used parts.

Yes, it's "worth" more than $3500 if parted out, but how valuable one's time is and what parts are truly salvagable will determine how much you make per hour of sweat labor along the way.

It's just not for me to buy one and part it out. Maybe if I didn't have a career, wife, kids, etc.

For that one, I would seriously consider ripping the top off from the A pillar through the D pillar, building a custom cage off the frame for roll protection, a custom windshield frame for some front glass, and then sell it to someone in a warm climate to wheel the piss out of. You could do a bikini-type top over the cage (for shade) and it would be a killer trail rig for about $5k total investment. Throw in a front and rear ARB locker and some 35's, then sell it for $15k+. Then you could clear about $7k. Parting out might clear $2k, and you have a LOT more work involved.

Reminds me of the day a Live Oak fell on my old 100. The insurance Company was willing to fix it. I passed.
