Part of my passenger side front flare was removed by the previous owner when he tried to breed the 80 to a Volvo. What are my options.

1-Donate to the CDAN retirement fund
2-Remove all flares. (Wife used her VETO power.
3-?

Yes illustrious overseers I've tried to search this many times.

Hey Dan dogs hungry? ............ Might as well donate now ............ :flipoff2:

As far as option 3 I don't think there is one ............. hmm .......... no never mind :princess:

Pics of carnage are always good.

Feed Dan's dogs. He'll certainly appreciate it!

3 - Leave it like it is.

Eventually the wife will get sick of it and let you do #2. If you do #1 before you do #2, you will be back to #3 (assuming you wheel your junk) Then you'll wish you had done #2.

You aint got no flares? Who you do wheel with a flake?

Flares? Who needs flares?
I vote yank 'em and bed liner the area.

Sell the flares and the mudflaps and you'll make money in the end.

That's what I'd do...

As for your wife, my wife was very sceptical when I posed it to her, but once it was done she was very pleasantly surprised with how good it looks.

I have partial flares. I'm still on #3. The flake I wheel with moved from #1 to #2. His wife was fine with it.

I for one do. I've got to keep Johnny Law off my back while I'm headed to the trail. I have mudflaps too, although they are trimmed to most minimum I can get away with legally. Actually, it wasn't me who was cited, it was my wife. So I've got to keep Johnny Law off my wife's back or I'll be in deep doo doo.

Well -- if you're going to follow all the traffic regulations...then...okay, keep the flares. :flipoff2: :D

I'll have to look up the regs for CA, but I haven't had any issues yet.

Removable flares. That's what I do. 'course the removable flare mod probably only works on the highly superior 95-97 flares.

"go home" .......... :flipoff2:

I got hit in the parking lot, and besides a long dent in the door it ruined the front DS flare.

$430 from the local dealer.

I'm using the money from accident to fund bedlining a la doug's rig.

jaysdead40 -
seems to me that flares might be available somewhere in Georgia...possibly...

what the hell do flares have to do with traffic regulations? where the hell do you live?
Idaho I run 35x12.50 MTs with 3.25" backspaced wheels. They stick out of the flares about a 1/2" If I don't run the flares I have about 3 1/2" exposed. I can't remember what we are allowed exactly but it is less than 3 1/2". The mudflap law is even weirder. I can't remember the exact height but if your body is a certain height above the rear tire you need mud flaps to reduce the exposed tire to something like 8-10" off the ground. Lots of folks I know have been cited for the mudflap thing. It is usually a combined deal with other infractions. My wife's citation was no rear bumper, mudflaps, and tires exceeding the width of the vehicle. I really can't say I blame them. I don't want my windshields broke by gravel tossed up by the tires.

Man it aint Free, used to sell some aftermarket flares that looked to be made from rubber. I don't know if they still sell these, nor have I seen them in person. This is another possible option that might be worth looking into. I doubt they will look anything near as good as the factory flare so if you're wanting it to look stock, don't bother with this. You might also look for a used flare then save some cash for another project.

Utah law is you can't have more than 75% of the tire exposed. I'm flarless without mud flaps...I try not to speed and get pulled over.

I just moved from Truckee CA, and after 11 yrs of living there I got pulled over three times (in different cruisers over the years) for having no mud flaps and to small of mud flaps. I know up in Truckee mr jonny law has a lot of time on his and her hands but damn, its just a mud flap!! But I do understand that having a rock fly up and blow your windshield would suck so I guess they are only doing their job! Why I posted this? I have no idea, its late and I am putting off doing more work for school! Or it could be that I have had four to many of these tonight
