Nice work. Curious if your arm is putting the mirror at the same position as the OEM mirror, like the height and distance from the windshield? I am curious because in my previous 80 I had my Scanguage up there, but without trimming the visors the Scanguage would interfere when lowering the visors. This was by far, my favorite position for the Scanguage and I would really like to do it again. I am wondering if the Scanguage would be in front of the visors (as in between the arm and visors) if they are down when using your arm?

Thanks for the help.

In looking at your pics again, it looks like with a really tight install, it may work using the lower hole. When you have a minute, maybe a pic and measurement with the visors down?

Thanks again!

Have not tested accessory positioning but the mirror arm is designed to put the mirror in the exact same location as the OEM mirror. The addition of the M6 threaded holes means a simple aluminum/ABS mount can be attached to position the ScanGuage wherever you want it.

Some tweaking:
  1. Internal slot radius where slot meets the thru pocket. Eliminates a sharp edge. Also extend slot a little further down to meet the bottom edge of the pocket.
  2. Reduce the notch width at mating interface. .015" clearance per side currently, reduce this to .005"
  3. Reduce block width. This will make it easier to get the plastic trim piece on and off
  4. Increase cable width on block slot
  5. Angle changed 12deg
  6. The arm thickness will increase because of the angle change.

I installed the prototype again and played with it some more. The visors on the 80 clear the mirror just fine so the 60 will likely be fine, but if something more than 3" wide is attached the arm it will interfere with the visors. ScanGauge wouldn't fit in the zone for that reason but some sort of drop bracket and bring it under the mirror could work.

I’ll post up more pics later.
