yeah i was just curious about how these "inverted flare fittings" are different than AN fittings. i ran into AN fittings for my motorcycle so i was curious how they were different.
also it would be great to see exactly where they go.

I’m far from knowledgeable on AN fittings, brake parts, or anything else so read this info with that in mind. Also remember these parts are for emergency use only.
My understanding is that AN is not metric and there are some differences in the angular offset of some AN fitting parts, and their shapes, compared to these emergency plugs.
The 3* difference in angular offset and the shape of these plugs provide correct sealing and proper clearances to work as a plug anywhere in our braking system where there’s a threaded connection.

thanks man.
i found a good thread on the topic. i guess he got on it because he is doing a LSPV delete and putting a manual one in the engine bay.
from what i can gather toyota has a special inverted flare (flare on the outside i guess) that has the japanese angle but that is 1.0 thread instead of the normal japanese 1.5. i think i have that right.
then the ABS sensor is like european spec because it is coming from bosch or something. all in all seems like a complicated topic on the 80.
i think i had an AN adapter (SAE) i needed to buy for a cooling line i added to my BMW motorcycle once (which was confusing) but it was a long time ago and the first chance i had to research the topic so it's a bit hazy.
anyway as far as i can tell the 80 has the japanese inverted flare and angle but it is weird since it is 1.0 thread and not the normal 1.5 thread i think.

two pretty good illustrations from that thread. not totally sure i understand how they work on the 80 but some good info.
