dumb ass question - since you have an fj62 too - did you find it difficult to install it? mine met with this resistance on the right hand side, i just couldn't force it into place at all.
Mine is still in the box...I've been debating/over thinking how to/if to, finish the interior. I have seen references to your challenge - can't be sure if it was in this thread, or other's about the insert, but it's here somewhere.

Not dumb. It's a thing. I think it was that wire harness behind there that got in the way on some of the 62's.

Got mine today. I looked thru this entire thread and didn't see any picture of how folks used the holes on the bottom right. I saw references to Ram mounts and ECUs, but no pictures. The hole patterns are clearly intended for something specific. Anyone care to share pics of what they installed using those holes?
As I understand the center mess of holes is a variant of the "AMPS" pattern which allows both 2-hole and 4-hole AMPS-pattern-compatible mounts to be placed in a variety of orientations. Why this is necessary and often on both sides (the substrate and the mount) for a ball mount which itself can then be rotated in any orientation doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The other pattern is a 4x3" rectangle for .. other stuff? Couldn't find a reference for that, or why every one of these glove boxes might need that pattern in it. Would have been nice if these patterns were knock outs or even just center punched but not drilled.

Having said that, this is better than a piece of cardboard, so there is that :)

i had to send mine back; not too happy about that; yeah someone else in this thread brought up the issue - it's a wire harness that goes to the ECU that's obviously unique to the fj62. didn't find any solution besides just cram it .... and i don't have to look farther than the el cheapo hacks my PO came up with to know that's not the way. as for the holes, certainly feels like it was designed to do about 10 different things. things not everyone needs, or needs the same way. aside from the fit, that really disappointed me is that the large hole simply couldn't accommodate the oem light. i'm probably in a minority of one when i say that LOL anyway some one else is working on another solution to this, i'll try that out next.
