something to do on a weeknight
this is on my 4/71 fj40
follow the switch back to the bullet connectors from the harness to the switch. Loosen up the rubber protectors well before pulling apart the connectors and try and spin the connectors a little back and forth before pulling apart----if necessary slide the rubber back and pull the connector apart with needle nose on each half of the connectors on the metal part----dont pull on the wires cause they could break. If you break one a regular crimp type bullet connector will work to repair it
my hazards were working great but the turn signals were intermittent so i had a go at the switch
First remove the 4 case screws on the back
store carefully they are tiny
Look inside and you will see 3 screws holding the switch in-remove the screws
Then pry back the 4 tabs---with the arrows not the one circled to remove the phenolic and contacts assembly
Be careful of springs popping out at this point , this is not a job for gravel!
spread out all the parts as they come apart and clean them
pay close attention to the grooves worn on the contacts and clean them up with emery cloth
