Too far north. Too far east.
I posted this up in the 40 section too. Does anybody have a service manual for a 1972-74 FJ40? My manual covers the two individual motors and I'm hoping a newer manual will cover the single motor.

==========================
I have a windshield wiper motor that I'm attempting to wire up to a newer steering column. There are four wires. The wire diagram in my 1969-1971 FSM is not helping. Anybody know how the wires get hooked up? The wires are: L, LB, LW, LR. I've played with a power supply and can spin the motor, but I can't figure out the low speed, high speed, and park function combinations.

The wiring diagram for the newer column is crystal clear. The older manual doesn't have the same detail.

i have a Haynes for those years. it has the full vehicle diagrams. i didn't look too close in detail yet. i'll take it to work tomorrow and can fax it to you if it will help.

I have a FSM, but I believe it is for the later years, since I picked it up from a friend with a '76 Fj40. I can scan it (but you would have piece it together).

Jon,

If my memory serves, the older wiper motors had a power, ground, low and high speed. There was no automatic park (at least on mine).

Thanks Greg. It looks like there should ba a "park" position when off, but I can't seem to make it work with the FJ62 switch. I have the high and low speeds working. I'll keep tinkering.

does that mean you don't need my switch to check?

Yes, I still need it.
