I didn't figure I would be able to get enough of a lick on it laying on the ground. I'll see how it goes.
 
Both my plugs were low-profile internal hex... not only did they keep working loose, the hex on the plugs and the outer protective rings on the axles were demolished. So I just ground all of it off, welded over the plug area a few times, then re-ground it all smooth. I guess that's the shadetree way of shaving an axle. Working okay so far.

I will be headed up either in the evening on Friday or before sunrise on Saturday. If anyone needs any parts off a 1996 80 let me know and I can bring them to Golden Mtn. I am already bringing a few things for RSHARPfzj80 so adding more parts will not be a hassle.
 
Is anyone going up on Friday? I've taken Friday off so I'm gonna head up around 10am or so.
 
Planning on being there Friday, but not in the morning unfortunately. Will leave work as early as possible but it's a 5 hour drive for me. You better have a big 'ol fire goin when I get there!
 
You know how I roll Steve! I'll be good and s***ty by the time you get there. I'll have a ball roaster like at the cove.
 
You expo guys got all the toys. Although I may join that group with a 4Runner soon. Hopefully I'll make it there before 10pm - just FYI.

Damn it damn it damn it. The project FJ40 has been waiting for me in AL, and the owner says his brothers are both in town to help lift/transport the tub and the chassis. These are all the parts that remain in the pole barn but I feel obligated to move them while I have free labor ready. I'm extremely bummed that I have to miss out on another ride, but at least this time it's for a good cause (cruiser rescue) and not work related. Please consider having another one in Spring? I'm eager to join in and will try to make a future ride. :-(

As usual I'm gonna bring some. Not pulling the trailer though. I'm just gonna pack some in the back of the cruiser like at the cove. I think I brought 20-25 pieces of oak last time. We can find some on the trail if we need to.
