Starting yesterday morning my windshield wipers are stuck in an on position. No movement of the control stick or the button on the end have any effect. An hour later it was gone and they operated fine. This morning, they are stuck in the on position. I couldn't find much using the search functionality so am posing my question here. I would believe that I have an intermittent (bad) ground, or that I have a bad switch assembly. Any ideas?

i'm of no help but that's one of the most annoying yet non-critical things I can imagine having to deal with
I vaguely recall someone stating that the REAR wiper relay hung up and caused their front wipers to stay on.
Worth a look. Rear wiper relay is buried in the rear gate.
If the wipers are running and the stick is off, go bang on the rear gate to see if they shut off....
Faulty switch in the wiper motor.
I went through this with the rear motor running continuously until I pulled the fuse. There is a micro switch inside the motor housing that triggers the interrupt for the intermittent function. When this switch fails, the motor will continue to run regardless of the control switch position until power is removed.

I'm sorry, the micro switch doesn't trigger the interrupt for the intermittent function, it is the "return to home position" switch. My mistake. But, when this switch fails, the motor will continue to run.
Open the hood. Located on the passenger side firewall towards the top. Can't miss it.

Have you messed around with the washer reservoir pump connector or any part of the wiring? If it is unplugged the wipers will run. I imagine damaged wiring could have the same effect.
I’ve seen that happen, in fact I’d check that first. I’d bet that’s the issue. Or perhaps the stick on the column, they used to be notoriously bad on other vehicles, but I’ve never experienced it on a cruiser yet.
