Looks like a pretty easy fix..

Any tricks to this one?

Is the pump seperate or attached to the reseviour? I have to take it apart today so I'll quickly find out but want to have a heads up on any snags if there are any.

thanks...

I don't think the pump can be disassembled. It's pressed into the side of the fluid resivoir. Toyota stocks new pumps-I got one last year for my 60 from Cruisserdan at American Toyota.

about 30 bucks for a new one from the dealer.

make sure your looking the washer pump not the headlight pump ;)

I pulled mine apart and its a little gear pump. Unfortunatley it doesn't seal when put back together. The pump is a component of the tank. I got quoted $50 up here in canada. So i put in a regular pump for $8. Just pulled the gears out of the old one so it flows right through to the new one mounted on the inside of the fender. Just cut the wires off the old one and attach to new one. Simple and only $8.

on my 40 and 60 and 62 the pump comes off the tank and there is no problem(leaks) when replacing it......its just snaps back into the tank.

My two cents: It's an easy fix...and you can believe
me because I have (virtually) no repair and replace
skillz. My only word of caution is when you pull the
resevoir out, watch out for the little outlet filter doohicky
(sorry for the technical term). It's a pain but I wouldn't
want to run fluid up to the washers without it.

well ok it's more like a screen and I'm just too lazy
to go back and delete the word "filter"

and yes, they're cheap...think I got mine at shmucks.

:D
