my 98 cruiser's stock tint is sort of a brown and from what i have heard it is in the glass so it cannot be removed. any of yall tinted your windows and if so how dark did u go????

My 2003 cruiser had a factory gray tint and I added 30% Lumar tint all around.

20% all the way around

the 20% looks good. im thinkin thats about as close to matching the front and rear as you can get

if you going to tint your windows, i suggest you use Solar tint film. i have installed this brand on my vehicle for 5 years now and its as good as new, specially temperature easy can reach 50C during summer time, but still didn’t effect it.

this is their website

I think this is about 30% I am not sure though...previous owner did it...for last 5 years it has been just like that ...no fading or peeling off

i have 10% on the front windows. 5% on the rear windows. and a 35% on the back window for rear visability (well, somewhat). Here are some pictures.

Im happy with SunTek Carbon Series tint. has 71% heat rejection. its good stuff. ive always found the 3rd pic to a good example of how dark it is. this is the front passenger window compares to the untinted windshield.

Night time visibility........... no.....

and no tickets yet (knock on wood)

dang that is dark. im probably gonna just do 20 all around so my parents dont get mad at me. haha

35% on the 100
5% on the 80 minus the quarta window that was broken
5% on the 79 but windows down
18% on the hilux
Best shade of tint id go for mate would be 18%
5% is a real b1tch to see out of when night driving

Mine is 5% all side and rear windows, and the front window has a UV shield, about 75%.

Nighttime visibility? You cant see crap in the middle of nowhere, but if there are any lights around you're fine. Also depends on your age, the older you get the more light you need to see the same thing as a younger person. But since you're parents could get mad at you I'm gonna say you're younger than me, so do it!

more reasons for me to do the door trim and chrome black (a la the Sahara here in Oz) ....fek...that's a nice looking 'cruiser Mr 2000UZJ!!!
cheers

no problemo..
i thought i could get away with the door trims and keep the chrome...
no...i remember i sanded down similar trims on a car i had in the 80s sprayed it matt balck. ...nice tint...actually awesome tint...looked good.

issue i have is the "weather shield"...which is handy...and i have one for the left side, not yet fitted. And it covers part of the door trim paint...my Silver....so i'll have to work around that. Happy to use black marker pen if i have to!!! hehe

it has a design fault....water drips down from from the bottom of it...easily handyman fixed...add on a strip of metal or plastic to make sure the water drips on the door instead of the inner trim and into the car!!
but fek...who tested it? and why did it get off the ground for sale? meh!

even partially winding up the window does fix it coz the position of the glass doesnt cover the fault of the weather shield!!

aaah probably made in China, not tested properly as usual.
cheers
peter

My rain trim shield thingamagiggys work fine...but the window has to be halfway up. Fully open the rain still comes in, but not as much.

If you do tint the windows and get it done somewhere make sure you dont add the other side yet. They absolutely HATE those things.

I think mine is at 20% - previous owner did it. Definitely love it!
