Window regulator replacement (1 Viewer)

Finally got around to replacing my left rear window regulator and motor. Now the new regulator wont push the window all the way up?? There is about a 50mm gap at the top. Have i done something wrong?? 1992 80 Series HDJ80

I would go to the Resources Section & download the 1992 FSM PDF. Read through the sections on the door and window regulator starting around page 729. Pictures of your door and regulator assy. may help, as your information does not give much to go on. Sounds as if something got bolted up incorrectly, or if you removed the window from the guide, did not get clipped back in to the same location?

Been awhile since I last did this but IIRC, if the motor wasn't clocked/installed on the regulator correctly that might account for the window not closing ie: if the pinion gear of the motor runs out of teeth (travel) on the regulator plate before the window goes all the way up. The procedure is in the FSM IIRC.
