If anyone is looking to replace the window crank handle a replacement can be found at Pepboys/Autozone in the self help section under Dorman Part #76998. It worked great on my 1/76. Just figured this might help someone out.

If I can figure out how to post the pic I will. Its pretty simple, comes with a spring clip which you insert into handle. Then you can push handle onto the post. The clip will spread as you push it on and snap into place in the slot on the post. Putting them on is pretty easy, it's taken them off that can be a little bit of a pain.

Are they the same length? My Metal-Tec cage gets in the way of teh drivers side handle.......Cant roll up ( or down) the window with the door closed!

As far as I know they are direct replacements, I'll check when I get home but I guess they stick out approx. an inch from the door panel? How close is your cage to the door panel?

its not the width but the length. When you turn the handle, it hits the cage.....less than a 1/4".

Sounds just like the original. Nice find.

I always keep a few in my trail box. They're kind of cheapo, they will break eventually but it beats wrecking that splined stud with vu=icegrips or whatever...

They extend 3 1/2 inches from the center of the post if that helps.

Is there any way someone can get me measurements on the window crank and door levers?
I have a '74 Fj40 and I'm overseas right now. I have a friend at the machine shop here and some time on my hands. I want to make a set of window cranks and door handles for my truck. The measurements I would need are. Depth, spline count, OD of shaft, and depth of the notch.
