I have a oil leak and smoke coming from the oil breather pipe on my bj41 landcruiser any idea what could be causing this ??

Sounds like you are getting blow by at the rings. How is it running, any loss of power since this started. What is your oil loss rate and has it gone up? Might be time to do a compression check and service the injectors while you are at it.
Not really a diesel guy.
And welcome to fight club. There is a diesel forum here somewhere.

I have just imported the car and have not driven the car so won’t no on its loss of power, the leak is quite bad I have a oil drain train under the breather pipe, there is also white smoke from the exhaust

White smoke is water/antifreeze burning - So now its the head gasket is leaking and allowing the blow by. Or there is crack in the head/block. Source the gaskets you need for head inspection, then rip it apart and see what is up. Maybe all you need to fix is the head gasket.

Cold engine? Condensation?

Whitish smoke can be oil, depending on the light. Blow-by has to be more oily than regular exhaust, because it makes it past the rings. If you have high compression pressures in the rings and some fuel, it might be combusting in the ring zone? I'm going to just say that I'm not familiar with diesels.
