My son got the minivan stuck trying to get up the driveway today....
Usually keep the 60 garaged all winter, but I had the bright idea to fire it up and winch the minivan out of its' predicament.

After extricating the minivan, the winch cable would not respool. Using controller, the motor would not engage to spool in (although it would work spooling out). I hear a faint clicking sound when trying to respool the wire. What should I be checking on this? It is an old Warn M12000 that gets very infrequent use.

TIA

Thanks! I'll check those connections

Also check the control cable outlet connection on the control box. If you have access to someone with the same hand held controller you can check it that way also for loose connections in the hand held. If none of this works you can energize the solenoid coil in the control box (similar to a starter relay on a Ford) by crossing the line and load terminals to verify your winch motor has no issues.(use one leg of a jumper cable to jump the power.)
