Hi community !
Already use search but can not find argument info.

It is time to buy the winch
Of course WARN 12 000 lbs is super good - but price is also high enough - around 1000 $

I find in market KOHLER Winch 12 000 lbs - I think this is German but not sure- price is 300 $
http://www.indowinch.com/winch-kohler-12-000lbs/
and bit more power but also more heavy
http://www.indowinch.com/winch-kohler-16-800lbs/

3 time differense in price in specifications is nearly same

WHERE is the trick ???

If it'll get you out of a jam at $300 then go for it.

With winches, I subscribe to buy once cry once...

FWIW, I bought my 8274 for $275 used, rebuilt it for another $50, and put on a new steel cable for $75. So I had a fresh rebuilt (and legendary) winch for $400.

Just food for thought.

The Kohler is made in Indonesia. the Warn is USA. Warn will still supply parts and service for winches you bought 30 or 40 years ago. There are dozens of new winches popping up in countries like China, Malaysia and Indonesia. They're inexpensive in many cases cheaply made. Warn has over 65 years under its
belt of testing and building winches. I have an 8274 that was built in the mid 70's. Never been serviced outside of replacing two cables I broke over the years and it's never let me down when I needed it. I have over 15 years on my Warn 9500i. Same deal, never serviced, never failed. I have burnt up at least three Optima Yellow tops with it during long winching sessions. Maybe the longevity of Warn is just a testimonial to the quality of its products

Wish I could buy a Warn 12000lb for $1000.00. Over here in Aust they are over $2000.00
