I've been searching and the answer is probably in plain sight, but I can't find it. Will this radio fit in my 96 Land Cruiser?

If so what, if any, mounting kit do I need and what wiring harness. Thanks.

Amazon product ASIN B07DDDYM53
I've copied the vehicle fit portion of the description:

Vehicle Fit:

  • The double din size of ATOTO A6 series provide 5 types of front panel size as option: 173mm*97mm, 178mm*101.5mm, 205mm*104mm(Toyota specific),8in VW specific, and Ultra 10.1inch, and their model name start as A6Y27xxxx, A6Y17xxxx, A6YTY7xxx, A6YVW8xxx and A6Y1021xxx.
  • Most dashboard mounting frame suppliers from North America may provide double din mounting frame with 174mm*98mm opening (Metra dash kit, PAC dash kit,etc). ATOTO is the first one to bring Android 7in car stereo with minimum 174mm*97mm front panel dimension! An extra plastic frame is also included in the package to extend its size to 178mm*101.5mm;

It’s double din so should fit fine. You can in bolt the brackets from the stock radio and bolt them to this for the install. You will need the correct wiring harness adapter for plug and play. Use search. Plenty of threads about it.

The radio arrived today and nothing happened when I hooked everything up.

I'm using the Scosche TA02B 1984-Up Toyota Power / 4 Speaker connector.

It fits into the grey connectors in the photo. The white connector is what was plugged into the original unit. I disconnected the wires going into the amp but they are different than the grey connectors and the Scosche harness won't fit into it.

I have the harness connected to the wires that came with the head unit with splice connects and everything seems sturdy. No wires are coming loose when I tug on them.

Any suggestions?

nvrmnd, I have an LX

IIRC, you don't have to connect anything into the factory amp. Just remove the connectors to disable it and use the built-in amp of the head unit. You should have matched and mated the same color wires of the Scoshe adapter with the included head unit wiring. and then it's direct plug and play--the black connector goes into the head unit and the white connector plugs into the existing Toyota connector.

This is the current wiring harness I have.

They hook into the different grey connectors in the earlier photo I uploaded. The white one is what was hooked into my old radio. Should I be looking for a harness that fits the white plug?

What comes out of the radio unit should have been included with the unit. I think it has a black connector that plugs into the head unit and the other end should be a bunch of bare wires of different colors. The scosche adapter should have a white and/gray connector(s) on one end and bare wires on the other. I used posi-twist connectors to attach the wires (match the colors) and connected the the whole thing to the existing harness in the dash. Then power it up.

Yep, My radio came with a black connector. I used crimp connectors to join the wires together. I've pulled on the wires with some force and they stay joined together. I've plugged the connected wires into the truck. I've turned on the truck. No power.

You need to use both grey connectors. The larger one is power, etc, the other is the speakers. Wrong harness perhaps? I just plugged everything in for Crutchfield stuff.

I've used both connectors. They seem to snap into place. I did have to re crimp some of the rear speaker wires on the smaller grey plug. The label says it's for Toyotas of that age. After I have some coffee, I'm going back to it today.

Grain of salt, that is from a '94 EWD.

Just wanted to double check...no power to the radio at all, or radio powers up and no sound?

No power at all. Nothing happens. When I was taking out my old radio I turned it on for a second and the antenna came up a few inches and now even pushing the antenna up and down button does nothing.

I've checked the fuses and they all seem good.

Have you tried reconnecting the old radio to see if it powers on? Just want to make sure that you didn’t get a bad unit.
