Hi folks, just wanted to ask if a regular ethylene glycol tester works accurately with Toyota Red Antifreeze? I'm talking about taking one of those tester things with the floating arrow and using it to test the freeze point or the boiling point of the Toyota Red. Can someone please share? If these tester things are not perfectly accurate, is there a factor one can add or multiply or whatever to "convert" the measurements? Thanks so much.

The main ingredient in Toyota red is still Ethylene Glycol, the difference is the additives,

I use the Prestone tester like you describe, from my initial mix it read close to 50/50, and that was what I tried to put in, so it is close, don’t know about perfectly accurate but I think it is good enough?

I cannot find the MSDS for Toyota Red, IIRC that will give you the specific gravity that could be compared to normal antifreeze,

Go forth and test, the results will be accurate.

:D

Thanks fellas!
