I keep hearing the off road weenies claiming that our 80's are only luxury SUVs. Well, we all know the truth. Let's post some pics of 80's Curisers in difficult positions. That is, positions that the jeep/explorer/blazer crowd wouldn't touch.

May the posts beg

:flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2: Now I like my Toyota LC just like the next guy but it wont go where this goes

haha, pretty ballzy to post a pic of a jeep on 8 inches of lift running 32"s on a land cruiser forum.

Not sure why a XJ is posted here, but the comments make zero sense. A well designed exo means when you put your wife behind the wheel and she flops the rig, all you need is a can of spray paint to fix it along with a side mirror.

Doesn't interrupt your wheeling day longer than it takes to put the rubber side down. Try that with your 80.
So when is your "well designed" exo getting installed big man? Maybe instead of coating your rig with 20+ pounds of goop you should be welding on 100+ pounds of tube. If ya think exo's are sooo much better. And hopefully when you do roll you will be rolling across a flat parking lot instead of big sharp jagged rocks.

I'm not, and they are way more than 100 lbs. Just depends what you are trying to protect against. If I do a cage, it will be a six or eight point internal. If I flop my 80, so be it. If I hard roll it in any situation, especially at speed onroad, I want an internal cage for occupant protection.

But an exo can provide excellent protection for a flop, and for most of us who wheel hard, it is only a matter of time. Personally, I'll take my chances on that one.

Damn that 1st pic looks pretty close to a flop, which is what im trying to learn where that point is right now. This happened yesterday and scared the dookie outta me for a sec.

Bout as wild as can be on the Gulf Coast

Heres a few of ours from today at Eglin. Not very wild compared to alot of yall.

Carried both front wheels over this one. I scared my wife so the pic sucked.

Next two dont show the side angle very well. My passenger was having to push me into my seat as we went thru it.

Had fun. We ran most everything in HI/HI center locked. The Jeeps were running in low and still hanging up and struggling-we lumbered right thru.

My wife got to drive for the first time and made a few spots in HI look easy while the Jeeps struggled in LOW-was freaking awesome.

The album links appear to be working but my direct image links to Facebook don't seem to be working.

Also, anybody know how to post Facebook video? I tried copying the video "embed" link into a hyperlink and they don't seem to work.

Thanks.

dang dave...... Nice job :D

Yeah, first try didn't go so well. Right front tire ran up the side. We winched the truck to the right and I backed right out. Little beauty mark left on the 1/4 panel.

Second attempted I cut it into the rock (left). Used the metaltech sliders to the full extent. Got over fine with just a little scrape on the back left corner.

 Ya pic 15 ummm a nice place to be Dave ;)
