Simple math:

3B Diesel
130,000kms

Before injectors were rebuilt ~ 18mpg (UK gallon)
After injectors were rebuilt ~ 26mpg (UK gallon)

That's a difference of 8mpg, or 5L/100kms.

I average 1500kms/month, and #2 diesel averages 90 cents CDN/L here. This means that I am saving 75L/month, at a savings of $67.50/month, or.....

$810.00 a year in my pocket. :bounce: :bounce:

Good to know :)

Yeah ! How much at your place ? Here in Montreal it's about 40 to 55 $ CDN

Did you change the injector gaskets ? or use the old one ?

I'm only a quater of the way into a tank of fuel after injector rebuild and turning down the fuel. But i'm getting killer milage right now.. as well I should I just creep around ;)

The fuel was actually turned up a touch. Each injector cost about $70 after tax, but I had big problems with the pump caused by myself, that took another $200 before I realized it was a stupid oversight and nothing was actually wrong.
I used new injector gaskets and seals, they're dirt cheap. I also added some Moly to the transmission, and it shifts a lot smoother, perhaps reduced friction?

In any case, the old injectors (one of which I keep on my desk) were totally carbon-ed and sticky...a load of bad fuel somewhere.

Oh, I also added a Racor filter, perhaps an improvment in fuel quality/mileage? Dunno...but I'm loving it.

Hey Wayne, I ran the tank near "E" and filled up yesterday, she took only 65L. I can't believe the gauge is off enough to then believe she has a 90L tank...any possibility the JDM's have smaller, say 75L tanks?

90 L tank on the 70 series even the LJ71 has the same tank... it feels like you can drive forever on a tank of fuel...
and yet i was asked if i can get a long range tank for one...

I need to clean the contacts on my fuel gauge.. It was way passed E so I figured I should fill up. Only 16 usg out of 23

What is involved with the injector being serviced is there more to it than simply changing the injector nozzle?

AFAIK shimming to ensure the correct crack open pressure. From what I understand there is no sense in changing the nozzle on IDI nozzles, or servicing the tips on DI nozzles, if the crack open pressure is not correct.
