FYi, at some plants in the US, Toyota has sort of reached a crescendo/tipping point where it isn't likely to be possible to automate any further. Meaning that they've automated as much as they can possibly automate. Humans with tools can perform some functions better than a robot ever will. As most probably already know, the responsibility for Toyota quality is enforced across all plant workers and even the newest hire on the plant floor can stop the production line if they see a quality issue.

IMO, there are two things that are significant determinants of Toyota's success and they directly affect our beloved cruisers.
1) Toyota treats it's workers with respect. By that I mean even the person that mops the floor is treated as a valued member of the organization. They don't belittle or ridicule one another and the newest/oldest employee in the least glamorous job is treated very well.
2) The plant operations are amazing. Management puts extreme levels of focus and detail on plant operations, and the plants run like clocks. Toyota plants are amazing endeavors. As a result, plant workers at Toyota have serious political power in the organization. Requests from upper management on the plants that are frivolous are kicked back.

Also, Toyota is protective of it's secrecy in terms of how they manage their plants. Cell phones are either confiscated or wrapped with tape. Take a photo and they will absolutely confiscate your phone and will probably take legal action.

Hello Zombie thread continues.
So the more I read about this I wonder about 200 series/570 and ponder on quality over 100 series. Is it possible the newest version isn’t as quality built?

I have had 2000 lx for 18 years, wifed Daily Driver,bought with 32k now has 312k bought 2007 lx to replace , 2007 did not drive as good or feel as good even though only 94k miles!!! Wife drove it for 5k miles Wife wanted old LX back..luckily had not sold yet,so detailed it touched up front seat leather up graded crappy radio and speakers, timing belt and water pump, new Michelins sold the 07 now she is happy...you will not notice the difference in the Araco built 100 and non Araco unless you drive back to back and spend some time in them BUT there is the feeling of better build quality in the Araco built

Your 2000 had a completely different interior and transmission. That’s why it feels different. Nothing to do with Araco.

Araco built is reference to a better built product. This is common in many industries. For Example, Marlin Lever action Rifle- 2009+ Are awful and old school (Different Factory/People) made to different standards.... Apple’s and Oranges ,yet it’s similar.
I believe Toyota keeps the Details to each build in each Factory. Yet there must be a reason Araco is referred to as a Better well built machine in many different search’s on line. Just my .02

I beg to differ with you, the silver 07 i got rid of to keep the 2000 was a very nice car, but when driven back to back it was noticeable...the wife git back in the 2000 after a summer and 5k miles in the 07 and would not give it up said sell the 07! I know I know you love your silver 07 , i went looking for one but was disappointed after 17 years with our 2000...realy like things like the real glass headlights instead of the green tinted plastic ones , the 16 wheels and tires ride better ( though the 18’s on the 07 handled better and the 5 speed and the extra 35 horses were nice on the 07...if i could blend them together i would...like i said unless you own both and live with both you would never know it..but if you dig into the blogs here i am not the only one noticing this..

Sounds like the 07 you had was a pile. Maybe had f’d up AHC. Just because it was low mileage doesn’t mean anything at all.

My 05 is Araco as well, same sticker as above. It appears to be an early 05 build as Lexus shows 'first use' on 10/30/2004.

The more that I tinker with my 2001 LX, the more that I appreciate the Araco build quality. I think they sourced the best of the best for their builds.

I just did a complete tune up (spark plugs & coil packs) and 123,000 miles it had less vibration (before the tune up) than my friends 4 Runner with the same engine that has 1/2 the miles and is 10 years newer. After the tune up their is no comparison, my engine seems as smooth as a luxury car.

Not compared the same ofcourse... yet plenty of Ak47s Quality models are determined by where they got built and what factory. Just snother example. I’m a old Lever and S&W guy myself- yet just an example of industry factories differing.

There's no significant numbers on these things - they are all built well. My comment above is akin to a twin getting a rise out of being born 30 seconds before their sibling.

Inside the drivers side door jam there is a will have build date and which number your vehicle was off the line. There is a manufactures label (affixed to the right side when you open the door). It's just a fun thing to know when it was build and in what sequence your vehicle fits in with everyone elses.
