The kit consists of a spool and pair of manual locking hubs. I would strongly suggest using the Aisin hubs instead of the AVM brand hubs. They are just plane sexier and what Toyota’s actually came with.

It was suggested earlier that install takes 4 hours. This may be true if you put your rig on a lift and have done it several times. Otherwise it could take days.........

Also, read up on the need for either new birf’s or machining a new C clip groove into the outer shaft.
Are you a distributor for the part time kits?

I think the only rigs that should do this mod are the ones that:

1. Going to install the 3.11 gears, why not your there already anyways

2. Have a lift past 4 inches in the front, your Ujoints/splines will thank you

3. Want less wear on your front axle components

This might be a stupid question... but after the conversion is done, does the H-N-L shifter stay in H? And if so to put into 4wd, do you just lock the hubs?

If thats the case wouldn't the front drive line still spin?

After a part-time conversion, the transfer case shifter continues to simply select between high and low range. If you don't do the "pin 7 mod", then putting it into low will lock the transfer case.

It is not in 4wd until both the transfer case and hubs have been locked.

Locking the transfer case will cause the front driveshaft to spin.

Locking the hubs will cause the front driveshaft to spin.

Locking the transfer case AND the hubs will cause power to be applied to the front wheels in addition to the rear.

So the H-N-L lever stays in H while driving in 2wd correct? And to place in 4wd, you press the CDL switch as well as lock the hubs?
