Off the top of my head, Shotts, Hoser, i4c4lo, Bull.

Just wondering. Going to replace the 305s and thinking of going up in size.

Shouldn't be a problem with the 865, OME T-Bars and Slee Diff Drop?

That's right. Forgot about that! Hey, I got the same bumper now!

I am trying to figure out the same decision. If an Open Country M/T or MT/R was available in a 11" x35"x16" it would make the decision easy for me...but I just don't want or need the 12.3-12.8" (315R75 in either of the above tires) width plus the extra weight it brings.

Macneil, your suspension set-up will work fine for 315's. Not totally necessary but everytime I drive it, I want to regear. The one exception is long straight stretches of highway--then it's fine.

Spresso, I would have preferred narrower tires as well. I know you are planning on running chains and I really doubt you could do so in the front with 315's. Rear chains would hit the Slee bumper on compression.

I think the 315 MT/R's would be OK up front for recovery chain clearance since I am running a 1" wheel spacer but the Toyo's would be a challenge as they are even wider. Good point on the rears...

Compromising sucks!

Just to let you know, I have 3/8" clearance (at best) between the firewall and tire. The picture is of the drivers side when my steering wheel is partially turned to the left and the the AHC suspension on low mode (2" lower). And that is with "massaging" the firewall with the sledge hammer. But I do have 1.25" wheel spacers. I am going to swap them for 1" spacers to gain a little more outside clearance.

I realize the 315 MT/R's are narrower at the tread but not sure it would be enough room to squeeze in chains. However, you'd also get 1/4" more clearance with the 1" spacers (as opposed to my 1.25")

No room for MUD :D Oh yea WEH8MUD :grinpimp:

That's tight!

Running 315 BF AT as well. Slight rubbing on the drivers side when the suspension is compressed and turning. Haven't done any wild wheeling, but I suspect that the rubbing would be a bit more when compressed further.

Cool, the 35's look just right on your 100... but you might want to bring the tail end back down either by adding weight to the rear or changing out the springs. I also used to have that stink-bug stance. Since lowering the rear, it drives nicer... especially when braking and turning.

As for speedometer calibration, it is not absolutely necessary but it would be better to have an accurate speedo for proper shift points. I haven't tried the Yellow Box but it is reasonably priced. If you plan on changing to 4.88 gears then there is no need to get the speedo corrected as 4.88's and 35's will correct your speedo.

Mine is 35" MTR and just got regear (and ARB lockers) two days ago. Now, it performed normally just like when I had stock wheel before. Just a bit crisper accelerated, less on brake when going downhill during downshifting.

Not sure how 1" spacer works without cutting the studs, but let me know how it pans out.

Cheers,

Snook, as for the studs and 1" spacers, the remainder of the stud that sticks out fits right into the little pockets inside the OEM wheels. Take a look at your spare rim and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's a sure thing, several of us are already using them. I might have some 3/4" ones made up, so we'll see how those go.

Snook,

Do we get a write-up on putting an ARB in the rear of your 100?

Thanks,

Adam R.

Cool, I would be interesting purchasing in 1" or even 3/4" spacers.

ARB lockers was installed by Sean (shop owner for 13 years) - RiverCity Differential in Sacramento, CA.

His differential photo portifolo in the lobby was impressive. All signatures by drivers & owners - Baja 1000, Rubicon, Low street rider, drag stock car, 1950 car restorers and of course, today cars.

I am his 2nd 100 series client but he does 100% of the work for the first time, I dropped off my truck at his place. His first 100 series client was Spessomon where he brough all of the nessary parts and 3rd members over.

Sean would need a one week in advance for ordering parts then three full days work that also including installation of ARB Air Compressor and ARB Switches on my dashboard. However in my case, he got the wrong 3rd ARB Locker so it cost me two other days. He need two different ARB lockers for just the rear.

Cheers,

Snook,
So how did it all turn out?

Spressomon,

I got what I expected and paid for. There is no "loose" end.

I would recommended Sean, a friendly and knowledgable, to other 100 series owners who is looking to have ARB lockers (and regears) install. He is a proud of his work and he allowed me to to walk around his shop bay.

He even left 2 fts of extra long air tubes around the air compressor so I can relocated the air compressor after installing 2nd battery in the same place which I forgot to mentioned to Sean.

Cheers,
