So the wife calls me and tells me that her 89' FJ62 is leaning and making horrible noises when she hits the slightest bump. I guess it's time for new springs all around. I'm glad she didn't crash when those leaves snapped. I'm in the market anyone have a good deal that I can't pass up? Remember I'm in Montana.

Broke 4 leaves at once! That's quite a feat and must have been some monster pothole. Does look like they may have been cracked for a while from the rusting.

I have never seen broken leaf springs...but the truck's posture reminds me of when I stripped out the torsion bar splines on a Nissan Pathfinder. Dropped right to the ground on one corner.

Holy cow. :o

I am impressed.

And sorry to make fun but there was a woman driving it haha :hillbilly:

Wow! Impressive. My wife would have driven it another month & then said "oh yeah, the trucks makin a funny noise...started 'bout a month ago"

Buy OME Medium 3 inch lift...

best bang for your buck

thats if he wants to buy bigger tires... then the gears are out.. etc.

If you want stock height you might be able to get them at any spring shop. Or a Napa?

I know Many springs shops just make them up for ya on order.

That said a 2.5 inch or 3 inch is a good lift on a 60

 Wow... just wow.

I have some good stock ones I could send you. $20/pair or $40/whole set plus shipping. Shipping shouldn't be too bad as I'm in Idaho.

That is pretty rad. My same leaf is broke, but more like just lost it's spring and sags. Not Snapped into peices!

A lot of them don't look broken till you separate them from the axle. ;)

Yah I had lots of broken leafs. I actually broke my springs in a similar fashion too. One side inverted. The other side had leafs I could snap with my hands.

That is a good deal.

Agreed. also, if you want new springs, MAF should have replacement stock-height springs for around $150 per axle/pair... so that'd be $300 for the whole vehicle.

That was the price last time I checked, so YMMV.

Also also :D, you can get OME springs and take a leaf out of the pack for a superior ride, with no to minimal lift.

good luck in any case.

I would have had to point it out to my wife. She would not have noticed. She once drove 4 miles across town so I could drive her car to evaluate a "funny" noise. When she got there, she had a flat tire. And by that time, a chewed up $400 aluminum wheel.

I'm guessing the initial cracking occured when this rig got a fender bender before i owned it. The rig itself has 335,000 miles on it. I guess it was long over due for some newer springs.
