Do you already have the step bars you want, or are you looking for a source? Do you currently have factory running boards that need to be uninstalled?

Most just bolt right up to pre-drilled and weldnut holes in the frame. You can do it with a friend to help you hold them in place as you start the bolts. It's really very easy, just a little awkward if you try to do it by yourself (balancing the steps and trying to start the bolts).

I don't have anything on there right now. So there are pre-drilled holes in the frame with nuts welded in side? That would make life a lot easier.

Still shouldn't be a problem. The frame is prepped for what ever you want to install. Just make sure what you buy bolts to factory location. You can probably find a good deal on steps over on the fjcruiserforums.com classifieds, since many folks "upgrade" to sliders.

You could get factory steps free for shipping when I started with my FJC. Plenty of people taking them off for sliders.
NB the factory steps don't mount to the frame, they screw into the rocker panels.
DON'T WHEEL WITH the factory steps. Ask me how I know.
