Who has the most miles on their 100 with the fewest problems? (2 Viewers)

Thought it would be interesting to see how many miles members have on their 100 series LC's and what problems they have had at what mileage. Also what kind of maintance are you doing at what mileage to get trouble free miles.

I have a 99 LC with 67K miles, only problem is the antenna quit working. I do serious maintance by the book plus replaced all hoses and belts at the 6 year old stage since mine is a southern AZ vehicle that was in a lot of heat.

What is your story???

00 with 94k.

I had to replace the starter around 90k.

I replaced one O2 sensor.

I had to replace the stock suspension with OME No really honey, I HAD to!

Soon I will do the 90k PM.

I have a bad front left CV that needs to be replaced soon...

'99 with 87k. FWIW: I spray the antenna down regularly with a dry lube...hopefully preventative maintenance!

2000 with 120,000 mi.

Virtually everything I`ve replaced so far has been preventative maint. items

I Did the starter and waterpump before it needed it, did the t-belt at the suggested mileage(ish)..etc.. Oh, I did have an idler pulley go South that I needed to replace...

For the most part..... Bulletproof

I've done the starter contacts, CV boots which some classify as repairs. Personally at 100,000+ miles I think they are naturally wearing components so it is maintenance to me as opposed to repairs. My '99 is at over 168,000 miles now and they've been very enjoyable, comfortable and uneventful miles.




02-18-2012 Hot damn woody brought the edit button back to life!!!!

Anyhow, I'm at 211,000 now and since the last update I've had to repair the antenna mast. Seriously, $22 in the last 43,000 miles. I did some maintenance like spark plugs, 2 front O2 sensors, t-belt for the second time at 200k and grabbed the water pump while in there since the pump was original. Hate to say it but the plugs looked original. Hard to imagine that though I do not ever remember replacing them before. Anyhow, runs like a sowing machine still and I guess I'm in the neighborhood of 14-15mpg on heavy 285's.

221,770 miles. '98. 1 bad fuel pump (about 120K miles?); replced O2 sensors, left rear electric window inoperable (up, thankfully); driver's elec window works but has a mind of its own; 2 taillight bulbs; 2 license plate bulbs; 2 sets brake pads; 2 batteries..........that's it!
Preventative maintanence?? What's that? Oh right, I do change fluids and filters often............:whoops:
Still looks pretty good for her age.......
90K done way late.

98 UZJ100 with 136,593 miles on it. Previous owner did the 90k with the timing belt.
I've done...
Front brakes, rear brakes
replace funky spark plugs, air filter, etc.
replace front differential (2 pinion blew)
replaced rear diff (chipped three teeth, long story, see above)
retubed front drive line (see above)
rebalanced rear driveshaft (see above)
Other than that, just oil changes....

Well,....if you were me and, hypothetically, mind you, let's assume for the sake of argument that you had neglected to change the timing belt through more than 200K miles and had finally made an appointment to get it done for the first time next week.....would you admit to such inexcusable neglect in front of all these seasoned, conscientious, hard core Cruisernistas??? Hypothetically, of course.....

I'm at about 153,000. Did the 90 at about 100, other than pm I broke a zerk off the rear driveline wheeling and burned out the d bulb. Put cv boots on - leaking a little - when I had the diff out for front arb. Still smooth. I still haven't done starter contacts
Probably put a fuel pump in soon as pm.

I would think the more of you for being honest, so thank you. It gives me piece of mind knowing it's not going to snap like a rubber band tomorrow, because I'm not planning on doing it until at least 100k or so...

120K on our 99, Starter contacts and an antenna, replaced the velcro on the 3rd row sear straps. Both cables for the lower rear door. Just normal maintanance including 90k service with a water pump @ 110k.

My D light is out as well, but I like it that way.

The 100 series has been very very impressive.

115k on my 99, no issues, did the tbelt,water pump, and starter at 105, antenna is also DOA but its no biggie to fix. Other than my front rotors being warped. I bought new rotors over a year ago, and they are still sitting on the shelf. I'll get to it one day...

1. driver door panel rattle.
2. driver window canted as it traveled through run.
3. door panel, window run, window and regulator replaced - fixed items 1 & 2.
4. steering wheel hub squealing when turning L/R - fixed.
5. rear seat rattle.
6. front driver side lean/sag.
7. front driver side spring/shock softness.
8. front driver side suspension knock.

It's currently at the dealer again to determine root cause for items 5, 6, 7 & 8.

Two days and counting. They finally admitted the front-end lean IS a problem and connected the newly formed knocking to the lean/sag issue. The SW called and said they have the lead mechanic, suspension expert, shop foreman and service manager all hovering around my LC... removing / replacing parts and test driving to find the knock.

This may be a stretch.. but with all these problems, the latter being serious in nature, I may try to negotiate a buy-back and replace it. IMO all my new vehicle defects have potentially diminished the value well below the average gas guzzler.

Think it can be done?
