What happened to it? Why don't the tire people offer it anymore? What could I use to paint or color in the letters on my next set of tires?

They still offer it, and I prefer it ...

I prefer whites out but I forgot to tell them last time I got my tires on...grrr

my rig is white and the lettering matches up and looks pretty nice

No disrespect intended, but I had to laugh when I saw this thread. For me, when I get tires that have white lettering, I ask to have them installed with the black walls out. For a couple of reasons. First looks; yes if they're well maintained and clean, they enhance the looks of wheels, tires and ultimately the rig itself. But that's a full time job for a rig that sees more than on pavement, perfect weather running. Ease of maintenance. Secondly, I try not to draw attention by running flashy tires or mods due to the jerks that steal or vandalize. Keeping a low profile has it's advantages.

Until they make whitewalls with a yellow pinstripe like my dad's 90's Caddy's had in a mud terrain, I'm happy to stick with black!

But I'll give my local independent tire shop credit - I dropped off a new, unmounted tire for the spare wheel and left for a few hours. They weren't ready for me when I got back because I didn't tell them which side to put the white lettering. I really hope they were happy to work on something other than a 20-40 series profile like most of their customers have. I once watched an 80's Pontiac on 24's flop on its side when it turned in there too sharply!
