Those look great! Has anyone really beat them up yet on the rocks? Do they plan to make them for 80's?

Yes White Knuckle Sliders have been put to their test and are made from what I have seen to be some of the strongest on the market. As I have the first for the 100 with AHC I hope to put them to a true test very soon if time permits :steer:. And You can contact John but I believe he does make them for the 80 as well. Their is a customer rig on his web site of 95FZJ.

I beat them to death on my first ride, I had scrapes on the top of the slider. Not sure how they got there, but they definitely took a beating. slammed the whole weight of a 100 against them full force on a ledge trying to get up it. Another member on the board who was with me filmed it. I have yet to upload the footage.

Well I have not "beatin my to death"...yet at least. However they have been used and tested. First weekend after installing them I used them in a local forest trails which is notorious for tree stumps and exposed roots that kill your rockers. The bump out in the rear did an awesome job pushing the rear out to avoid damage to the rear quarter panel.

More recently, two weeks ago I went with some friends to a another local area that has a really cool rock section. I did one line both directions. Coming down in the pics you see below I skid across both sliders and put some good scratches in them. Then coming back up (no pics) I broke over this big rock and a smaller rock under my tire popped out causing the entire weight to come down on the driver side rocker panel. It was a very loud bang and I was a little worried about damage. I checked underneath and there is nothing more then a large chip out of the powdercoat finish, zero damage to the sliders or LC. Without sliders that would have absolutely been a huge dent in my rocker panel.

In my mind these White Knuckle sliders have already paid for themselves in damage to my body they have saved.

good times:D

What's the cost for the AHC version?

I would guess about the same as the normal 100 series. Very little change. He is sending another pair off for a second test fit. And if all is good he will start selling them soon.

on my sliders over the years....powder coat or good old rustoleum spray can worked best. On last set on FJC I put two layers of primer and two layers of Rustoleum black hammered finish. After wheeling trips I got my 2x2 piece of cardboard and did touchups while the metal was still shiny and bright...if rust started on surface would steel wool and then touch up. Works great...

I put non-skid tape on top of sliders by door entry area...it was 3M brand. Very sure footing but in shorts (or wife in dress) getting out of FJC, FJ60, etc it would take a layer of skin off calf muscle as if you slid into 3rd base on ball field. It is a self correcting problem after two or three painful experiences I can attest. LOL

What were you guys' shipping costs?

Does anyone know if he's shipping the AHC version of these sliders yet? Would love to order some this week...

If so, has anyone ordered or installed?

I dont think there is a cost difference but will have to check with him to be sure. The real difference is location of the supporting hardware and brackets...to make sure they miss the AHC equipment attached along frame rails.

I think I am the other test fit...as I am giving him feedback on fit, installation, how they are holding as daily driver and how also as step and slider offroad. I have a trip scheduled in couple weeks to put them to some stones and stumps for final evaluation short term. :D :D

So far no regrets..I love them.

Those are some funny rocks.

Looks good Nick

yep...every rig I own it gets tires...suspension if needed...and quality sliders. FJC had BudBuilts, FJ60 had Slee, 100series has White Knuckle.

Every bounce, bang, scrape and scrape is money in the bank.....as it prevents it being spent on body damage repairs or worse.

The people watching you with the cherokee are saying: Damn, Toyota is better:D

Yup, can't wait to go back again next summer!

Nah, that's my friends in the XJ. That thing is a bucket compared to the LC but is VERY capable off-road with a complete suspension under it.

Sliders look awewome. I just emailed John about picking up a set for my new (to me) LX470. Thanks.
