There are three choices for the Ironman FC. I have an 2004 100 with slee upper control arms, arb winch bumper, 12k winch, full slee skids, and run 275/70 R 18 BFG KM2's. My current front shocks are OME and they are shot.

I need to know between the $97 version and $124 version. I think it is the $124 version.

Ironman 4x4 100 Series/LX470 Front Shock Absorber - Foam Cell

I like the Ironman Pro shocks but they are outside the budget at this time.

Thank you for the assistance,

AFAIK there are only 2 options for Foam Cell shocks plus a third option for Nitro Gas shocks. The standard Foam Cell shocks go for $124/ea. The Foam Cell Pro's go for $189.45/ea. And the Nitro Gas shocks go for $97/ea. Can't comment on any of the performance since I don't have any of those, but I am in the process of deciding between the stand Foam Cell's or the Tough Dog's to replace my OEMs.

Thank you.

Save up your $$ and get the Pro’s . The larger diameter of the Pro is worth the little bit extra $ in dampening efficiency.

I like my Pro’s but another FoamCell option is offered by Tough Dog- you might price those with @reevesci before you pull the trigger on the Ironman.

The 41mm bore Tough Dog Foam cells would be 245.00 a pair or 490.00 for all 4 corners) . But, I only have the rears in stock until December.

53mm fronts only-- 345.00 a pair shipped - avail Dec.
45mm 9 stage adjustables rears only-- 345.00 a pair shipped - avail Dec.

I drove my fully loaded LC for hours on washboard through death Valley a few weeks ago at 30-50 mph, and when I’d stop, my foam pros would be too hot to touch. But they never stopped damping, and seem to be unharmed. Glad I got them rather than the regular grade foam cells.

@reevesci ... regarding the Tough Dog foam and their different sizes: does the larger size equal better heat dissipation? Or, is there some other benefit. As far as the adjustable aspect, is it both rebound and compression control? Finally, are the adjustables available front and rear?

I have a 98 LX and am looking at armoring up a bit more than current with a dissent rear bumper, slee under armor and a LandShark drawer system. My offroading is generally confined to West Texas (Big Bend), Colorado and Utah. I'm ok with the AHC now, but the extra weight of the above items will likely cross over the threshold at which that suspension is effective.

PM @wct49 about the Ironman shock applications.

I am running the “PRO’s” and love them...no issues at all..Or thus far anyway.....

Thanks for all the info.

I need shocks asap on the front.

I may skip a few meals and get the pros. This truck is heavy. ;)

Another vote for the FC Pros. Great all around shock. Just feel normal around town, smooth on the freeway with highway tires and heavy AT KO2s, and amazing on dirt roads at decent speed. Love them.
