I'm looking at replacing my driver's side CV axle and noticed that the shaft between the boots is noticably thinner (30mm) as compared to the passenger side (33mm). I cannot find any markings to see if one is OEM and cannot see any records that the PO may have had one or the other replaced.

Is there any way to tell if one of the CVs is stock?
Pictures 1 & 4 are Driver's side and 2 & 3 are passenger.

Newer Toyota boots are noticeably thinner. What measurement are you taking pics might help.

Also, do either of them have a YELLOW band on the outer boot? That is usually a tell-tale sign of OEM.

I updated with a few pics - the passenger side does seem to have a yellowish band

Pic 2 is passenger and 4 is the driver. To me, both look like oem. Why do you want to replace the axle?

yes, you are right - I got those mixed up and updated the post. The boot had been leaking slowly since I've had it the past 18 months and I'm starting to hear a more pronounced click coming from the drivers side during slow speeds and turns - I'm just trying to isolate the noise before going all in replacing the axle.
