In about a month I will be applying paint on my next FJ40 project.

Question is Capri Blue or Spring Green. I am very familiar with the Spring Green as its the color on my last resto, but I'm looking at the capri and imagining it with the white OEM wagons with the 33 x 10.50 KM2's, 4 inch lift ect, and I am liking what I am imagining.

I love the old school colors.

I'm saving up to repaint and redo the hard top of our '71 FJ40. I'm going to go with the original color, Capri Blue. I think it looks good if you stay away from the clear coat and go with an original-looking acrylic enamel. The clear coat just makes it look too shiny. I didn't like the color at first, but when it's done right with a nice shiny white hard top, it looks great. 'Old school cool!

I thought you were going with Fashion Green. Did you change your mind?

Fashion green is on my (future) list, but yes I have changed my mind on this one.

I am being pulled into Capri Blue more and more, and the peeps here on mud seem to agree.

It's funny how some of you mention your wives as loving these colors. Both of these are ideas that came from my :princess: as well. The spring Green was a homerun so I actualy value my wifes opinion on this... :D

It will be painted it in a single stage urathane, but I will be doing it with a slight wet look. It's still single stage but using more binder in the final coat. Makes for easier finishing. (wet sanding and buff as it leaves less orange peel ect.)

Thanks for the input so far...

LOL...women ;)
My daughter decided that she wanted the '64 to be Capri (it will be hers one day), and I like her choice! I was going to go with the original Sundune White, but I have to agree that the Capri will look great..and it is still correct for a '64. There will be a second rig, and if the frame on that one is good to restore, then that one will be a Sulfur Yellow, with a soft top

Both colors are great, but Capri blue wins out for me....

Selling this one too when its done? Cant wait to see it.....your last one was quite a looker!

I like Spring Green better, but I voted Capri Blue as I've seen your SG 40 and I want to see your CB 40.
