Hello,70 series fellas, i am 40 series guy but need your help for a part; i am looking for the intermediate shaft (steering) of a 70 or 75 series; i dont have much knowledge about the length just guessing 70 series would be a bit shorter than 75 series and both or 70 series int. shaft (steering) must some where around 70 cm/30 inches or so(including yokes).Plz verify my knowledge, i dont want to make a mistake, i am planing to use the int. shaft for the power steering conversion on my FJ40.Thanks a bunch for your replies...

Need to be more specific about the 70 series part you're looking for... they are many different variations to the 70 series, more so than probably any other series.

For example, I have 5 different variants at my shop at the moment: 70, 73, 74, 77, 78. Many of the parts are similar, but quite a few are very different.

just an fyi on steering shafts,

they're quite easily adjusted for length, I used one out of a 70 in a project, and was able to shorten it several inches by just pushing the slip joints together.

in the end it all fit together looking unmolested.

Ok thx for the answers seems like any Fj70 part would help me out in my conversion :) but next question where can i find one? i can get one from toyota dealer but they are asking 600 USD just for the intermediate shaft w/o yokes, just like a bad joke... hope you know somewhere that i can find cheap or reasonable priced intermediate steering shafts...
