OHHHHH Wa sheisse A

Jason, Joe, and Bill:

Thanks for the spotting all day. Couldn't have done it without your help. Other than the body damage, it was a great trip. Now off to the body shop (I actually felt sick, I hated to see that) and a call to Hanna. (Amen Brother)

Steve

StLCruiser, Hopefully you (or you wife) aren't discouraged. I had a great time. It was great to see Miescha, Bill and Steve and action. Our navigators, did the best we could. I take the blame for taking 2 hours to get out of there. We were a long way from home when we decided to leave. The maps and trail markings are happenstance at best. Toyminator spoiled us the first time down there.

We definately saw the park. Some greens could be yellow. Some yellows could be green. The same with reds. The unrated "roads" need to be rated. There needs to be trailmarkings once you are on a trail. The gentleman who owns the trails I'm sure is working on it. At least we didn't accidently get on any "extreme" trails, those are well marked at the beginning, at least I saw one sign. Next time will be better, navigation wise. We missed some great rock climbs, simply because we couldn't find them.

I washed up this morning. The sprinkler is working on the undercarriage as I type.

Joe:

The first comment from my wife was "That it, I've had it, you better get yourself another daily driver this week!!" Huh? I guess that means more lift and sliders are on the way. I wouldn't want to go against her wishes now would I?

No problem with the confusion on the way out you and Jason did great. I'd still be out there if left to me to find the way home.

Steve

Have you ever seen the commercial where the wife says to the husband that we need a new TV? :bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce:

Life is a little slower paced here in rural IL
I am currently uploading all the pics and there are quite a few they should be done by tonight (literally)
I will post the link to the pics sometime tonight.
It was a great day and we had a blast! Washita is awesome!

Now let the elevator music resume

how big are your pics? Have you tried reducing the size of them before uploading?

Pics!!!!!!!!

Sorry to keep you waiting! I had a blast and so did the kids (even though they were a last minute addition to the trip).

I lost a tire on the trail and one more on the way home (I had to put the tire with side-wall damage back on the truck just to make it home!

I'm pretty sure the tire damage happened when the PS factory running board dropped in the rear and connected with the PS rear tire :bang:. I would have left the step on the side of the road but I couldn't get it completely off the truck! I'm pretty sure the original damage happened when I got hung up on the rocks and had to winch myself up just before someone noticed that I never aired down my tires and they were hovering around 55psi :bang: Then again, it could have happened when Joe and Jason insisted I could conquer the waterfal climb and then watched as I got hung-up (though that was clearly driver error due to my lack of in-vehicle spotters).

And the final bit of carnage, I lost one of the fancy new Ham antennas on the trail - and I actually saw it rip off the truck! I stopped within a foot of it happening as we were going slow trying to get out of the park (still in the first hour of the exit strategy :)) but I couldn't find the damn thing - I guess a black stick kinda blends in with the brush.

So that's one tire down at the park, one tire down on the way home, two running boards beat to piss at the park, one running board damn near lost on the way home and one Ham antenna lost to the trail.

Here are a few pics - I'll get to the video ASAP. The first is STLCruisers wax job going to hell in the mud (notice the lack of any damage to the rear quarter panel, indicative of an early-day picture). The second pic is STLCruiser stuffing a tire (sorry for the crappy shot, I didn't have time to reach out the window and the flash must have bounced off the windshield). Third is me getting droopy in the rear (please don't quote this line and abuse it).

First pic - "this fancy wax job is going to look like crap in about an hour Dad!"

Second pic - Kids getting bored watching X-Factor try to get 'unstuck' from a giant rock sitting under his frame.

Third pic - X Factor Freed!

Carnage is usually what leads to upgrades. You were wanting to get new tires and sliders anyway.

I hear you guys had a bit of trouble finding your way out of the park. I guess Moj and wfd175 weren't paying attention the last time they were there. ;p It doesn't help that the park owners let the Jeep guys build trails every which way with no organization and then they have them mapped in their GPS' which they won't share unless you got a Jeep.

Yep, I left an email for both Hanna and Metal Tech and Slee when I got home yesterday - I just want to know who has something in-stock prior to TAC

I actually can't find anything wrong with the tire that went flat when the running board fell down and made contact. I aired it up today and it seems fine. I'm wondering if somehow the hanging slider got caught half under it and caused it to spin on the rim and lose the seal enough to deflate????? But I think that would have ripped the whole dang running board right off. At least the kids were still in a good mood while I changed the tire road-side (where is X Factor and WFD when you need a tire crew!).

I was wondering why no one ever has GPS maps of these places! I'd love to load it into my GPS - maybe I can get Dan to join up with the Jeep guys at least long enough to get the GPS data. Is there anything floating around for Flat Nasty?

If you are referring to GPS data I don't think so but I can ask Ron. Unlike Was hita Flatnasy has plenty of written maps available.

I also have a written map of Was hita but its from last February and they've added some trails since. You can still find it and print it in the Midwest jeep thing's forum.

Yeah, I was looking for GPS data for Flat Nasty. I actually think I know the park pretty well (especially the beginner trails :) but it would still be fun to have a topo map loaded in the GPS just for the hell of it.

It really was too bad you couldn't make it to Washita. I know you've been plenty of times and I certainly understand the need to do other stuff in the short time we all have - but the weather was fantastic, the trails were a blast, the people were great, we could have used a knowledgeable guide, and we saw a black bear too!!!!!

We'll see you at Flat Nasty I guess (though there is still talk of canceling the official TAC event, but MoJ could tell you for sure - he's in charge of the kid's entertainment).

ohsewgood/Wa****a off road park - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Here is what we have down loaded as of 10:00 last night.

If my truck had crawl gears as slow as this computer I'd be in good shape.

Your gonna need to change the name of the folder on Photobucket to was hita with a space. The forum sees the 4 letter word in was hita and does this to it washita. The link won't work until you do.

Besides, I already raped your photbucked acount and looked at the pics last night. :D

You can turn off the potty filter option and it won't censor it like that. It displays fine for me.
