Hey, everyone. I want to ask this question before I make a decision and screw up. I was looking at a Nomad Sahara wheel. It comes only in 17” wheel size. I wanted to run stock fire size, but he said, I need to go to 285/65-17. These wheels have a 0 offset. Will I run into any issues with this combo? Obviously, the wheels will stick out a little further. Not sure how I feel about that.

2017 Cruiser.

Thanks, for any help!

I wouldn't go for that small of a tire with 0 offset. The size recommended is basically the same as the stock 265/60R18. You will be WAY off of the factory scrub radius with that setup and could have some noticeable handling detriments. Something like a +35 to +50 offset and a 285/70R17 should work well stock, and fill out the wheel wells a little better than stock without any real detrimental side effects.

Thank you. I guess I could just look at a Toyota factory wheel. Or, maybe something off the Tundra.

Unless you just hate the factory wheels, a 285/65R18 will fill out the wheel wells nicely without any real detriments. All of the factory (5 lug) Tundra wheels are essentially the same specs as the factory cruiser wheels. The ever popular TRD Rock Warrior rims are a +50 offset 17" that will fit a 285/70R17 stock, but they've gotten hard to find good clean examples of.

Yeah, I wanted a bronze wheel. Not the biggest fan of the stock look.

Thanks, so much for this! I really appreciate the time you took to send links. I’m really trying to figure this all out. What is the stock offset? +35?

Also, I’m guessing something like this would work?

I love my 17's, but would not go with a zero offset wheel. Some have done it successfully, but I personally wouldn't want anything more than my +25 offset for the additional work and tradeoffs needed to clear the wider stance (also just doesn't look right to me).

You should also be very careful shopping 17's to confirm fitment on a Tundra/Sequoia/200. Many aftermarket 17's will not clear the brakes.

Yes, those TRD 18's you posted work great! I had those for a while too. They fit up stock just fine, but I ran them with a 1" spacer due to 35" tire diameter (to maintain stock-like scrub radius). If you're going with 32-33" tires, spacers are totally optional and not required.

Thank you. I was looking to just run stock tire size, but move to a K03 or Goodyear Duratrac RT.
