Interco makes a SS in a style called a LTB, they come in really unique sizes like a 34 x10.50 x15. I really like the tall narrow tires, wondering if anyone out there has ever ran a set?

Also I had a guy the other day at a salvage yard trying to tell me that the newer IFS steel wheels won't work on earlier solid axle cruisers and minis. (Somehow screws up the turning or ??? I kind of think it was BS, but anyone done this? I think the backspacing has to be somewhat close on the stock steel Toyota wheels throughout production years. Anyone got a take on this...

LTB are good tires. Not great for street nor would they probably last you a very long time but great on the trail. And less $$ than the TSL in similar size

IFS mini truck rims have 4.5in BS where mini truck and LC(90 and later) have 3.5in BS

Hey thanks, I appreciate the info! Every little bit is helpful.

I'll second the 'not good for the street' sentiment. My buddy had a set on an 82 mintruck (open diffs) for about 12K miles. They were at about 40% when he sold them to get TSL radials. They were great offroad, but the softer compound seemed to chunk easier than my SXs. Also, the sidewalls seemed softer, so morning flatspotting was pretty noticeable.

YMMV,
Eric

i ran them on my cruiser then put them on my DD SASed 4Runner with a spool
they are real soft i dont have any type of chirpin at slow speeds like in a parking lot.
THEY DONT LAST ON THE ROAD -- probally the same as a bogger
for the trail you cant beat these Swampers -- get them if the size is right for you

BTW i am runnin the 34x10.50 on 15's

These are 34x10.5 LTB's on a 120 series [new US forerunner chassis,a nd GX470 body] on 4.5" backspaced rims, and with my 80mm lift.

I ran the 34x10.5-15's a few years ago. I got 20k miles out of them. They suck on road. It sounds like a Blackhawk chopper is trting to land on the roof. They get flat spots and thump until warmed up. They are next to impossible to balance and tore up my power steering pretty good. I loved them offroad and as I spent half of my time in freshly disced fields, they worked great. Now I'm back on the road again, I would hesitate to get the bias ply again. The mtr's would probably serve you better as an all around tire. I finally got rid of these when I lost a chunk on the rear right tire on the freeway at 4:30 am while driving 65mph. I thought all heck had broken loose. The chunk was the size of a dinner plate and terminated the right rear mud flap. Scary. They would make a good dedicated offroad tire, but if you spend more than 50% of your time onroad, get something else or at least a second set of radials to swap out on trail days.

Re: Pictures and info

I appreciate the feedback and pictures, this helps a lot. I wanted to see pics most of all, thanks all who joined in. Thinking toward the SSR 35 x 10.5 x 15, anyone with any experience and or pics???
