Does anyone have an opinion on adding wheel spacers to 200 series LC? I am about to add a OME leveling kit and debating adding 1/2 wheel spacers. Looking for pros and cons and maybe a pic or 2....

I ran wheel spacers on my LC 200s and LX570.
I never really had any issues other then mine were at stock height I would get a vary mild rub in reverse with the wheels cranked.
I was always ok with the minor occasional inner fender rub, since it gave them a much better stance by not having the wheels sucked up under the fenders so far.

Now you mention 1/2", I am not sure that is an option. I run custom wheels now days and its been a while since I had the OEM wheels on with spacers, however I want to say they were 1.25" and mine were as thin as you could go with hub centric spacers.
You will want hub centric spacers and will also want to carefully torque them evenly in a cross pattern, or you could end up with a vibration. The 5 lug setup on the LC has always seemed overly sensitive to vibrations if everything is not torqued evenly and correctly.

With 1/2 inch I am not sure your studs are going to be long enough to make that type of spacer work.

The spacers are made by spidertrax, and they will have their own studs.
Do you have any experience with the OME leveling kit?

I’ve got 1.5” on mine with no issues. Just checked all the bolts again last weekend after about 15k miles and the torque was exactly where I left it. Use red thread lock. The procedure I used was put on the spacers, torque to 100ft lbs, drive for a week, then take each nut off one at a time, apply threadlock, torque to 100ft lbs.

Can get spacers as narrow as 3/4”. Lugs will protrude but most wheels will fit or you can shave the lugs.

1” will put a 275 tire even with fenders.

Edit: 35mm effective offset will put a 275 even with fenders. So on a stock 60mm rim that is a 1” spacer.

I think to use the type of spacer your referring to, you will have to plan on cutting your factory studs down.

I was under the impression that 1.25" spacers were as narrow as they could go without cutting wheel studs.
With certain wheels that have the pockets in the back of the hub plate, I could see 1" working if everything lined up right.
I don't see how the 1/2" would work without cutting those oem wheels stud.

1. Click search (magnifying glass, upper right).
2. Select “This forum” from the drop down
3. Type “spacers” in the search field, and leave the “user” field blank.

You will find hundreds of posts addressing your question, and many many maaany photos.

PS. No, this is not a snarky post.
The search function is a little clunky and not always obvious how to use well...but there is a massive cache of info already at your fingertips on wheel spacers. Have a look.

^ what Mark said. Make sure to search "This Forum", otherwise you get all other other land cruiser threads that pop up. FWIW I run 1.25'' love the look. If I could get the same look with wheels that I liked, I would run them without spacers. (one less link in the chain).

@James Lapp , what size tires do you intend to run?

Spacers obviously change track width, but it also effects the suspension geometry at the front axle. Too much offset, or the wrong offset, will change steering feel, invite steering kickback, cornering stability, and tire scrub. This is known as scrub radius and it is correlated to overall tire diameter.

I would recommend a 1" spacer for a balance of reasons. 1.25" starts putting offset (28mm effective offset on stock 60mm offset wheels) scrub radius into an aggressive part of the spectrum. .75" spacers ( 41mm effective offset) is ideal, yet there's too little structural material in my mind for these to properly support the embedded lugs, unless perhaps these were made of steel. 1" (35mm offset), is reasonable for most larger 33-35" tire setups.

If anyone is interest have a set of Bora .75" spacers. It makes wheels flash with fenders. The tire thread is more to inside so no worries about rock chips. Installed on front wheels and took it off the next day. Got small injury trimming studs and decided to go back before going through the exercise on the back. Attaching couple pictures. Will include locktide 243. Grey stuff is just dirt from anti-seize.

Hey guys. I am new to this forum. I am currently struggling to get wheel spacers for a Land Cruiser 200 series. I just installed an ironman front bumper with a winch and also a stage 2 lift kit. I also bought 305/60/R18. My tires are very close to hitting the lift kit ring (I don't know what you call it. Im talking about the distance between the front tire and the silver ring on top). Could someone please guide me what to do? I am also having trouble with the installation of two batteries that operate my winch, bumper lights etc. Any help would be suffice. Thank you

I think that 305 are too big. The biggest i could go was 285 65 18.

I had no rubbing until i put on my method wheels which added another 1" tot he width, but it was worth it!

I got the nitto 305s now. I don't know what to do. I need to get wheel spacers but I don't know which ones? I use this vehicle as my toy for heavy off road around FL, TN, Virginia, etc. The 305s are big but I am left with no choice
