I am restoring a 78 and wanted to use the stock wheels, however i am going to have a set made to 16X8. I found a set of donor wheels off of a 69, is there any difference or do I need to get the 76-79 wheels for stockton to modify?

Yes there are differences. The older wheels wont have clearance for your disk brakes.

if i am having them enlarged to 16" and maintain a 3.5" backspacing do you think they would work.

if all you are doing is increasing to a 16" size....why dont you go oem split rims?

stockton also has a rim that looks very 'stocker' and they can make it any size and back space you want.

what width tires are you planing on going with?

285 x 16" bfg at, I thought the only way was to send them a wheel and have them modify it.

Search Mr manny "new wheels... no spacer required" and check out his 16" wheels from summit. I got a set last year, 5 for $250 for discs all around, with 3-1/8 backspacing. I am very happy with them. Thanks to manny!

i looked at those wheels and they were nice, but i think i will get a quote from stockton. I would really like to have ones with hub caps.
