First post. Tried to see if replicated in other threads, but couldn’t find any.
Learning a lot about what I didn't know. Bought the car from Victoria and live in NSW so going through blue slip and registration swap. GVM issue with after market wheels.
Issue summary: trying to understand my choices to register the vehicle in NSW when a GVm post registration has been done in a different state
If I want to get an engineer certificate in NSW I can for $1200 BUT the wheels are not compliant apparently.
Situation
choices
Looking for help. Thanks in advance.

Issue summary: trying to understand my choices to register the vehicle in NSW when a GVm post registration has been done in a different state
If I want to get an engineer certificate in NSW I can for $1200 BUT the wheels are not compliant apparently.
Situation
- Bought a LC200 VX 2016 from Victoria AU.
- It has a plated GVM update post rego 12 months old. 3800kg Robinson’s IMS upgrade.
- Engineer certification done with stock wheels. Currently I don't have them.
- Seller changed wheels and tyres to following :
- Dynamic Jolka 17x9 35p 5x150 black
- Maxxis RAZR M/T 305/70 R17
- Engineer couldn't tell me if my wheel and tyre could be adapted to be compliant but in current set up it would fail. He said maximum adjustment is 50ml (not sure where that is based on, and mentioned maximum 833ml diameter.
- I can get a certificate if I find stock wheels to put on.
- If I swap wheels back ipost certificate t's not compliant in current tyre set up. So what's the point.
- Trying to understand if different tyre selection will make it compliant or wether I'm having to look at complete tyre and wheel purchase which I have not budgeted for.
- Also trying to understand if I just keep these wheels and tyres is there any other risks or thoughts this group have.
- The offset is 35. My understanding is the LC stock is 60.
- I can put 285/70r17 on this wheel apparently. Trying to understand if that resolves the issues.
- Is the 35 offset an ok set up to be running? Given the width is also 17x9?
- Risk wise, if car is written off am I at low/high risk of non-compliance voiding insurance?
- What choice would you make below?
choices
- Find set of after market wheels and tyres that are compliant with this upgrade. Cost impact I'm trying to avoid.
- Adjust if possible what I have to be compliant. This is what I'm trying to understand. Not sure it's possible.
- Don't worry about the certification for the GVM upgrade. I have a blue slip already with this so I can just progress. Keep current wheels. Change to 285/70r17 in 10-20k KMs when replacement required. But is this offset and wheel worth keeping?
Looking for help. Thanks in advance.
