What's your Ironman 4x4 bumper experience?

I wonder if the ironman ones for the gx would work?

The GX460 rated recovery points will not fit the LC200. We do make rated recovery points for the 200 Series but they only fit non-KDSS vehicles, (technically only one side will bolt up). Here in North America, all of our 200's have KDSS whereas around the world KDSS is a much less common feature. For that reason we do not sell them here.

I would have been in the same boat however years ago when shopping my wife liked the 16 lc more than the 15lx.

Just installed mine. Instructions of the type “attach the cradle with the hardware provided” and bag of bolts, is the biggest detractor of this product so far. I hope that the person that wrote those instructions had a dentist using similar level of instruction. Completely useless. I have an open ticket with Ironman now for a week trying to get some semblance of an answer on wiring of the marker / turn signal lights. In the end, after ton of frustration and a full day (not 3 hours), the bumper is on and looks great though, sans the lights. And seems well build. Installation, instructions and wiring ... beyond sad attempt. (From what I am hearing here, that’s sadly par for the course for all of the companies building bumpers.)

My guess is they are simply hoping customers will figure it out and eventually post instruction for others.

so ...sum up. Great looking. Fits well and doesn’t stick out as much as the huge ARB. Seems pretty well built. Instruction and installation hardware is a dumpster fire mess.

I just installed the no loop one on my 16, it's full replacement no bumper cutting you do trim some plastic parts. Took me and a bud about 6 hrs.

Any issues where the wings wrap around the headlights? There were some reports of cracked headlights due to the bumper being in contact. Not sure if it's a manufacturing issue or an installation issue. Also, do you have upgraded front springs? How much sag did you get with the added weight?

No issues yet, have had on for 2 weeks. It's an install thing I think where you're not adjusting . I haven't added new suspension yet. I have 275/70 ko2, after bumper install I had about 3/8 sag on each side.

Sorry. Didn’t see this until now. I did install it. Few small plastic bits under the bumper trimmed. But the bumper itself is untouched. I would say took me about 5 hours total. The instructions from Ironman are s***. But it seems that’s the par for the course for all bumper manufacturers as far as I see. Especially for wiring lights etc. BTW for wiring I ordered some t tap connectors. Worked awesome.

That’s partly design of the headlight and the bumper. To get the bumper to look nice and fit well to the body, the edge of the bumper slips into a gap between a headlight tab and the rest of the headlight. I am sure if the bumper is allowed to slip down when it’s not tightened up, it can break the tabs.

small tip. Put some adhesive foam where you will notice the bumper and grille frame touching. It’s deep inside the bumper and hard to see. But you will notice it when you push it on. The two spots where they touch can rub and squawk. Not a big issue. Just annoying and easy to address with one inch square of foam.

I cut the ends off my TT points to use as spacers, got longer rated bolts, snd used the Toyota original hoops. One day I’ll have a better solution. Until then, I have really expensive spacers.

I've run this bumper for about a year with only minor rubbing when off roading in moderate to difficult terrain. The issue is the flex of the vehicles front end versus the roll of the body when tackling obstacles.

I have made the decision to cut those tabs off as the light is just too expensive to replace. I have 2 to 3 long travel, off roading adventures planned this year which will cause more flex and rubbing so aesthetics will have to suffer for my peace of mind. Other than that...definitely would purchase again.

You are probably right. I will probably do the same thing when I drop the bumper in a few weeks to swap the grille. Really don’t see them anyway and removes the risk of cracking the headlight above where the tab is. Good call. I suspect a dremel will do just fine.

FYI I can't speak to the Ironman bumper, but I ran into this issue on my Trail Tailor bumper. (I believe Jason has changed the design slightly on the newer versions so this is no longer an issue). I ended up taking a dremel and grinding wheel to the bumper in that area and just notched the bumper, then painted that part to prevent rust. Cutting off the tabs would've been easier, but I wasn't sure if that would compromise the headlight

Ill drop bumper and cut it. I tried with bumper on and no bueno. Plus it will need a splash of paint to prevent rust. Tab has some thickness to it so I cutting is necessary unless a larger grinder is used.

@linuxgod its same on this one. At last lcdc event, it was pointed out to me by dissent guy...sorry horrible with names...and its time to make the cut.

Mines a 2018 LC and tabs miss for most part but I do have a few rubs from when I flexed on some obstacles at LCDC 6 last year, followed by Moab. After I saw it, I was starting to sweat spending 1500 on a new light fixture. Lol. Figure Gray Ghost will still be sexy, just showing a little gap on her front.
