what's wrong with my antenna?

it's stuck in the up position. i suppose the problem could be the switch on the dash, the mast, or the motor.

when i turn off the motor but have the electricals on, i can't hear the motor humming when i hit the switch on the dash. in my volvo, when the mast is broken (like it is now), i can hear the motor turning when i turn the radio off and on. more info: the POs put in an aftermarket stereo. i don't know if that tells you anything.

I'd have to agree with you on the mast not being the problem, you should still here the motor. That leaves the switch or the motor. Maybe see if you're getting voltage coming into the switch and then leaving as you push the switch up and down.

Sounds like the plastic innards of the mast might have come un-done from the winding mechanisim inside the motor.

Its easy to take it out and see inside. just remove youe washer fluid reservoir and take out the motor.

If that's it, its a pretty easy fix
