Interesting, they look kind of like old Jeep Willys Shackles...

That's what I was thinking and they do well on them. If they were a bit springy it would probably help articulation a little.

Great idea but I wonder how much punishment they would take?
I got the funny feeling the cops would put us off the road here with those on.

''IF'' that car is maxed out flex wise I dont think they are worthwhile purely from a flex perspective, aside from the fact they would be frowned upon from the authorities etc.

This pic is of my current suspension with factory STOCK 80 series rear shocks in the front, they are 2-3'' to short. Still has plenty more shackle angle to move back and with a longer shock would outperform the one in your pic.

Yea mate i think they would be well looked down on in Aus, i dont need them in the front and hopefully soon wont need shackles in the rear . ive just seen heaps of them (not in oz just pics) thought id ask about them, and show pics ,i take it no one on mud has them ? :)

IF they are properly designed then they would stand up fine.... think coil springs... similar idea.

mmmmm coils

Just more Body (English) something I dont need on my 74. I dont like them.
